The Banting/LCHF Thread

Phew, I hope something like that opens up in Joburg. Can't really justify paying them an extra R100 to deliver up here.

On the same theme, Checkers flax-seed pizza bases are becoming harder and harder to find.

Post the recipe - I may have some time to try baking this weekend (although I've never really succeeded at baking, I'm more of a grilled meat chef).
We always spend more than R350 so delivery is free and the bread freezes really well. We order about once a month and freeze.

I'd suggest making two / double batch then; one is easily and quickly devoured by the two of us. But maybe we're just piggies
Heheh.. yeah I normally double up everything... even the brownie recipe you shared some time ago. My kids love it so 1 will deffo not be enough.

Growing up one of my favorite things my mom made was a milk, potato and bacon soup. Doesn't sound great I'm sure, but was heavenly. Obviously not low carb friendly, but I've found that subbing cauliflower makes a damn tasty substitute for my favourite winter dish. Cooking up a batch this eve :)

Two bags frozen cauliflower, 2l milk, smoked paprika, feta, chilli flakes and fresh chives in the pot. Around 8 slices of bacon and one red onion in the pan. I'll blend the pot mix once cauli is soft enough, then add in the bacon and onion after. Easy and comforting!

Saw this at Pick n Pay, thought you lot might be interested. Also, that special is a really good price for shirataki noodles.

It's not a great looking dish, alas, but it was damn tasty.

Prawn meat in a parmesan, smoked paprika and almond flour coating after dipping in egg fried in coconut oil, on top of caulirice that I mixed a homemade tomato based sauce in with (chopped Italian tomato, chilli, red onion, garlic, spices and herbs, simmered until reduced).

This months marks 5 years that I've been eating LCHF. Here's to another 5 years of being healthy, hardly ever getting sick, not feeling tired all the time, not feeling hungry all the goddamn time, and as an added bonus, staying in shape :D
