The banting markets doing the rounds, is it worth going? I see Pretoria Has one on 6 June.

Guys ... I am starting to feel, mmm not sleepy ... not tired per se...but kind of "lam"... and a bit jittery. Is this because I have cut down so much on my suger and carbs so quickly? Does it go away after a while? Been feeling like this now for 2 days.

If you have deep pockets I'm sure it is well worth it. But, lots of places are now slapping "banting" on every second product and if you find out what is in it you realise it is not banting at all.

Salt Ockie and lots of it. Because you have binned processed foods, you are taking in a LOT less salt (they add lots of salt and sugar to processed food). Buy Himalayan pink salt and add to everything - you will start feeling better soon.

Another side effect of low salt intake is leg cramps at night when you are asleep - the one night I thought I was going to die as my left calf was 90 degrees for over 4 minutes.....

Haven't had any trouble since adding salt liberally.

Thank you. I already put salt when I make food like eggs, or mince etc. Should I just add more? I do enjoy salt so dont mind salty food. Have not had cramps yet ... thank god.

Yeah go wild..... good salt is, well good for you. I sprinkle on everything on purpose as I also love the taste.

Your body will adapt after a while to the reduced salt intake. For now, it needs a bit extra to feel better

FlashSA is wondering why hasn't got one of those beauties yet

Truth be told, still a bietjie fomo lingering.... will have to go play with one at Cell C this weekend....

Back OT, quite distraught as I have gone off those RMR crackers. Used to chow them flat out but now the latest batch is just sitting in a tupperware :-(

Over-drinking Nespresso's though - pod number 5 on its way. With cream everytime I am getting plenty of extra fat in.

We don't use flax seed but do add in 100g of pumpkin seeds to that recipe. They work really well for breakfast and/or lunch. Load them with butter and liverspread or cheese.

They have also saved me at family get togethers. Often there will be a cottage cheese dip or a pate (liver pate or snoek pate from Woolies etc). I take some crackers with and get to enjoy the snacks while the rest chip and dip, I cracker and dip.

I slacked off for a couple months and i'm glad to say that today was week 4 of being back to the right way and once again I feel good. I'm not financially challenged anymore either so I am stocked extremely well this time around. A total of 8kg's and 7cm's in these 4 weeks .....

Naturally that allowed me to have a 'treat' so I got one of those Atkins Advantage bars (the 2g net carb ones) and while it was tasty as all hell, whew did it pull a number on my guts, lol. Also bought an awesome book yesterday, don't know if it's been mentioned here yet - Low Carb Is Lekker. Chock full of banting recipes (with good pics).

P.S - the WW low carb ready meals, the shepherds pie especially, are awesome if anyone was wondering.
