The Banting/LCHF Thread

It tastes the same as the life matrix one, and also comes from the Philippines. I like the packaging it comes in, wonder if it's low card.

That's good, I like the LifeMatrix one. Ordering some now.

I make mine with tuna bread.

I mix a tin of tuna with an egg and spread the mix out on my sandwich toaster and toast it for a few minutes till its cooked through, then I take it out and cut it into bread slice sizes.
Then I make the toasted sarmie as usual.

Tis Lovely.

Also, cauliflower makes me trumpet out the most foul smelling gas ever, so as much as I love it I cannot have too much of it :D

It should be public knowledge by now that I hate veggies. And that toastie was just too much cauliflower.

Once the tuna is cut into slices, do you put it back into the toaster, or in a pan?

So I made my first cup of BPC this morning - and let's say it was.....different

3x Nespresso espresso
Roughly 2.5 tbsp lurpak salted butter
2 tbsp MCT

Not the tastiest thing I've had. I'm not really sure about my energy levels, don't know if I feel energetic because I'm expecting to or it's the coffee thats really giving me the energy lol

http://healthimpactnews.com/2014/mct-oil-vs-coconut-oil-the-truth-exposed/

I'm confused, why is MCT purported to be so good then

Quote from article

"MCT oils generally contain only the capra fatty acids. Lauric acid is either missing, or present in minuscule amounts. Therefore, to assume that MCT oil is a fractionation of coconut oil, where the longer chain fatty acids have been removed, leaving all of the MCTs from coconut oil, is false. Lauric acid is the star component in coconut oil, but missing in MCT oil. If MCT oil was the fractionation of all of the MCTs in coconut oil, it would be about 80% lauric acid. But it is not. It is zero percent lauric acid."

wait, the cabbage is just shredded and other stuff added? raw cabbage?

Cabbage shredded, some grated carrot (not too much), mayo, some acid (we use pickle juice), salt & pepper.

Ideas for a banting side dish for a braai? Green salad is too obvious.

Toasted braai sarmie using the 2 minute microwave bread recipe. Make the bread and let it cool. Using a very sharp knife, slice in half. Thick slice of cheese and then braai as per normal braai sarmies.
