The Banting/LCHF Thread

I've heard that being in ketosis makes your breath stink - so that could be one way - unless you have naturally awful breath.

There's no real evidence of this that I've come across, people usually get confused between ketosis and ketoacidosis which is related to diabetes, ketoacidosis gives the breath an almondy/nail polish kind of smell

My wife moans at me all the damn time. I have resorted to chewing a peppermint sugarfree gum before going to see clients just in case.

I have never been told my breath stinks until I started banting. It is most potent from waking up until my first meal late morning.

Doesn't bother me so I am all out of F's

Maybe you have gingivitis dude!

Constant fighting over the air con remotes for heating this side. Wife wants none of it while I am freezing. Missing those 26kg's of blubber right about now :-/

Hmmm, bit of a weird breakfast this morning but was tasty.

Scrambled eggs ( x 2 ) with tuna and cherry tomatoes.

Spur carb-concious breakfast with top up patty and 2x cappuccino's. Just what winter ordered for my morning brunch :)

3.8 Kg down on my first week of Banting. :)
My wife who ate mostly the same as me only lost 1.2kg.

Now for week 2.

FWIW - after 1.5 years of banting, my cholesterol is at 3.8, and I started at 3.7. So essentially it has stayed the same. Nice to have evidence (even if my sample size is only 2) that banting does not adversely affect cholesterol.

Been going for 12 weeks now, I know my cholesterol was 4.6 last year same time, it's now 3.4. Certainly seems good for it to me and my sugar is a happy 4.5
