The Banting/LCHF Thread

Yeah, for baby marrow and eggplant (and to a lesser extent, cauli rice) I always put them in a serviette-lined colander with salt for at least 30 minutes to try and get as much water out. Speaking of which, gonna try making eggplant fries this weekend! *crosses fingers*

Right ankle has been sore for the last 24hrs. Taking anti-inflammatory tablets which are reducing the pain a bit.

Since banting, I have continued with my daily Puricos medication and this is the first gout attack I have had in many months. I have not eaten anything different and can't remember having a bad water intake day (usually dehydration or high protein can cause an attack).

Very strange... Thought I would share as LCHF normally kills off gout attacks once and for all but somehow it has nailed me again....

I will avoid all biltong and organs and force feed water until the uric acid clears...

Which slab is this? Been eating the 85% mini slabs when needing a chocalte hit.

Does anyone know a good "soak" side for breakfast? I used to love moping up egg yolk with bread etc but obviously that's out. Anyone have a replacement that can be used to soak up yolk?

well I've been hitting the 90% for the last year and they recommend moving from 70% to 85% before attempting the 99%, so maybe for me it isn't been too hectic
I've never had the 70. And only have the 85 when 90 is not in stock, so should be the same for me.

I almost failed yesterday, going into the butchery, they also have a bakery and fresh produce in this awesome butchery. Well they had freshly baked vetkoeke and all the bread freshly rolled out, my goodness the smell was of heaven, I stood in front of the vetkoeke for about 5min lost in desire. :( week 10 = 16kg down. 9kg till goal...
