Sunflower seed loaf - The whole loaf is 9.1g carbs ....... 1g of carbs a slice, not bad at all in my book and it's yummy (no flax ftw)

A mixture of flax and either coconut or almond flour is the best!
Someone asked me to make them twisty lc bread, it wasn't easy due to the dough consistency but got there, almost:

So here's a thing - switched out flaxseed (Blegh) for sunflower seeds milled.

Ran out of baking powder so used bicarb instead.

Big mistake - the loaf would be PERFECT for St Paddy's day as it turned this lovely green colour! Tastes good but looks... not so good...

One thing I will say for banting, all those 'yucky' veggies and even meats that you never ate - they become very wonderful, very fast, lol. Don't think a green colored loaf would even make me think twice as long as it's carb friendly and yummy :D

this is true. i was a "i hate veg" type of guy... banting made me sometimes leave the meat, just because my veggies was sooo awesome.
Stir-fry with bacon and feta.... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

The cauli wraps from WW are awesome ...... more like thick pancakes but yummy all the same. Have had them once with chicken salad and then another time with bolognese inside and cheese melted on top :D

They are so overpriced though?

The transformation is complete - from 125kg (August 2014) to 89.5kg (this morning). Transformer.jpg - Diet works, this is how I did it:

It is important that you consult your Physician/GP and tell him/her what you are getting yourself into and they will advise if you should proceed and let them monitor you constantly - never lie to your doctor when she asks how you feel.

I hope my post will help someone out there.

The early days
Don't fool yourself - you can't just wake up and start a whole new eating regime - your body will punish you for it. Set little milestones. I started off by ditching bread. Then it was cereal, rice, pap, pasta and all that nonsense.

Water = beer, coffee, tea, Coke, Juice
Basically I stopped drinking anything else other than measured amounts of 2l of water per day... This my, friends makes a load of difference when trying to lose weight.

Don't imprison yourself, CHEAT
Yep, weight loss is not about punishment - nothing stopped me from indulging on some fine whiskey occasionally, but be careful because some cheats will set you back too much. We are all different. Choose your cheat eats carefully.

Measure yourself - DAILY
Buy a scale and measuring instruments, measure your weight and waist daily and document progress [electronically so that you can come up with graphs and all that fancy stuff]. By doing this you will be able to analyse your data and come up with trends, this will help you find out what helps your weight loss and what hampers it.

You will fall off the wagon
Life presents us with challenges sometimes that distracts us from our goals - but it doesn't matter how many times we fall, what matters is how many times we stand after falling. Never give up.

Beef up
Mine was a combination of low carb and massive protein intake - beef worked for me because it was amazingly filling. I ate green veggies and a selection of fruits - not all fruits are good if you're on diet, remember that - ideally, you want to eat fruits that are not too sweet - everything must be done in moderation.

Never go hungry!
When you eat, eat and be full - but be full on the right food.

Have rules
Once you have found your rhythm and you know your stuff, create rules about food - one of my rules is that I do not eat any vegetable that grows beneath the ground - because I discovered that these make me gain weight.

Get creative
Broccoli is really awesome if you prepare it in a way that is appealing to you. I used to hate it!

Have a plan B
There was a point during this whole process when it seemed I had lost all the weight that I could, I was hovering around 98kg and not losing anymore - I went to my doctor and asked her what else we could try because she was insisting that I was still overweight according to my bmi - she took some tests and sent them to lancet and I started eating according to my blood type. Nailed it!

I didn't talk about gym .... EXACTLY...

The End.
