The best Android apps

Smartphones are now an essential business tool and there are hundreds of applications to choose from

All those apps suck...try these....
Big Killer - kills apps...
data on demand - swithces to 2G when not in use...changes to 3g when you use it to save battery
endomondo - if you jog
galcon - best multiplayer app
google sky maps - like google maps but for the stars
mybroadband app ;)
phonemypc - connect to pc from anywhere even through firewall
ramdroid - check free ram
rockplayer - best app!!! plays avi ,mkv etc
shazam - tags music playing on radio etc...

just google the name above and apk...no need to go through market place...

Only works on rooted phones. Which voids your warranty anyway.

I don't mind the ads... just do not click on them whatever you do.

if you use an app like 1click Root can't you unroot?

Most of these apps have ads in them.

And my phone only displays the same Ad over and over again: "God loves you". Having converted from Christianity to Agnostic in recent years its one ad that really peevs me the most. How can they allow religious ads. Otherwise my phone is possessed!

God is talking to you. Go back my son!

On a serious note, WaveSaecure s quite good as well. It misses the camera functionality that AndroidTheft has. But the feature of locking your phone to your SIM and the phone being locked if any other SIM is inserted is a great one.

I also get that ad and im an atheist...haha. Breaks my nuts!

One of the coolest games is Tank Hero. Its a bit short and easy but if they expand it, it will be awesome.

Also, to the list of best apps, we need to add:
-3G watchdog: Monitors and manages data usage
-Battery Left: Monitors battery and tells you in hrs how long you have left and at what time your battery will die.

Appbrain is a must. Sorts the market out much nicer.

First and foremost... CYANOGENMOD.

* 3G Watchdog Pro - keep tabs on your mobile data usage
* AppBrain - Great app suggestion engine
* ClockSync - Keep your clock in sync (needs root)
* Dialler One - Dialler replacement
* Disk Usage
* Droid Wall - iptables frontend (needs root)
* Market Enabler - buy apps from the market! (needs root)
* Mr. Number Call Blocker - no more anonymous calls!
* SoundHound - whats that song? (better then shazam)
* SetCPU - save loads of battery (root, perflock off)
* SuperPower - save even more battery (root for some features)
* SyncMyPics - keep contact pics synced with facebook
* Tasker - automate anything
* Titanium Backup - vital for changing ROMs
* Vignette - best camera replacement I have found

Look for an app called MarketAccess. It spoofs your location and you can then buy apps. I use it all the time.

You must mean Market Enabler. I use it and works well. I bought a few apps myself.

I recommend:
root explorer (for rooted phones the best explorer out there) - Paid App
3G Watchdog (Monitor 3G bundle usage. Has a widget)
APNDroid (Enable or disable GPRS/2G/3G using a widget)
Dolphin Browser
Market Enabler(Rooted phones too I think)
Transparent Proxy(Make most apps use a proxy over wifi. Does not support cntlm authentication but I use a windows app for that - Not on market and rooted phones)

Also worth checking out:
news24
sharenet
vplayer (video player for other formats but free unlike rockplayer. Though does not seem to do hardware decoding. For that use your built in player)

Correct, it is called Market Enabler. There is however a Market Access as milomak states which is why I got them confused. I am using Market Enabler.
Thanks for the correction.
