Looks like someone's bot is malfunctioning on Luno? Massive sell off in lots of small bits with no change in the dollar price of BTC? This can't be just a reaction to the strong Rand? Have I missed something?

It's Luno. Just need a few people to sell to trigger everyone else.

Yeah we underpriced now by a few thousand so it should bounce back to around to R158k - R160k shortly if the USD price stays around $11.5k. The rand only strengthened by about 1% since last night.


Edit: Meanwhile the USD price has gone vertical in the last 15 minutes. We should be above R160k now easy but I think it might take a little while. Many people managed to buy in cheap below R155k with this mad selloff. So they will be happy to sell below R160k for profit which will hold the price down for an hour at least.

I'll change my order on the 25th when people get paid because I expect the price to shoot up from there.

There is that sell off almost every day, at roughly 8am, today it was late. Its one endless string of small amounts that goes on for a good 15min or so, ignore it, or, depending on the current volumes, you can short it:D

My balls were shining after Saturday night. :crylaugh: I agree with going down... but to what level ? 150 K or less ?
 
India fud didn't do too much over weekend, I think maybe the visa fud will have a larger impact when US wakes up?
 
There seems to be a lot of support at the R150k level on Luno. I doubt we will drop below this mark, but the moment some bad news is published and international exchanges dip below $11k again, we may see another panic sell off.

(not trading advice, I know literally nothing).

I see it not going below $11k again. It tried a couple times this weekend but the buyers came in force when it got close. I think we would need some bad news to hit the market go below $11k.

The drop on Luno this morning was an overreaction to the rand strengthening slightly and an article on Mybb saying "Bitcoin could drop to $1000". That article is a few lines from some noname investment company too. Makes one think that Mybb staff are doing some trading on the side...

I sent bitcoin to altcointrader and after 3 confirmations there is still nothing. How long do they normally take? At Luno this is instant.

I sent at just after 7am this morning, already confirmed on the blockchain nothing in my balance, already Emailed them, no response.

They seem to shoot themselves in the foot very often, I had no trouble sending LTC to them but that was in the middle of the week, maybe they are still recovering from the weekend? :p

Apparently some government crackdowns on banks dealing with crypto or something to this effect in India.
 
BTC on some of the international exchanges like Bitfinex is more spikey than usual today. Up $50, down $50 constantly.
