General question here. How many of you trade bitcoin on Luno, and how many have moved to international exchanges?

I am considering moving to Bitfinex or something like that to get access to more altcoins and spread my investments a bit.

You can’t deposit ZAR into Bitfinex.
I use Luno to buy BTC and move to Poloniex to buy alts I cannot get on AltcoinTrader.

I trade btc on luno, but have around 30 alts across multiple exchanges

Always good to spread out, never know when one will take off, eg, ripple, been hodling it since 450 sats, now 14750 sats.

Let's make this an adult discussion and set new rules:

1. Only people with more than 100k ZAR in crypto are allowed to participate
2. Only people with more than 300k ZAR in crypto are allowed to criticise and talk ***

This is gonna be silent real quick once all the wanna be's with their 5k Bitcoin "investment" shut up.

Cool thanks for answers regarding international trading. So it does seem like a lot of you do trade/buy altcoins as well.

I would deposit my ZAR in Luno ,then buy BTC and send BTC to an exchange wallet. From there I want to be able to buy and hold some altcoins. No rush here, long term stuff, just putting away a little something every month for the future.

I also think it is unwise( as has been said by many of you) to have all my eggs in one basket. Spreading reduces risk.

I just did this, this morning. Bought some ripple via Binance (painfully slow website though..). :)

Buy Eth. Btc is *** expensive to send now

Definitely don't transfer BTC. Rather go with LTC or ETH because the BTC blockchain is congested and expensive. On the other side you can buy BTC with your LTC - despite the fee and margin diffs between buy and sell you'll not have to wait AGES and will pay less than a BTC transfer.

Poloniex has the best interface IMO but I use Margin Software's Leonardo - being a desktop app its very zippy and includes 3 trading bots for those inclined.

Why would anybody be jealous of how you've managed to lose significant money?

hahaha yeah look I'm not really a jealous person, but if I have to choose, I'd much rather be the one with 0.00032 btc, than the one with -R100,000

Be careful leaving your coins on an exchange. I move them off within 5min of purchasing unless I plan to sell in the near future.
