The Bitcoin Thread

Out of principle, I will never invest in BCH. I still cannot believe they managed to get onto Coinbase.

My bitcoin got lost going through Tether and they are not replying to my tweets and mails

In your case I don't know if it has to do with the exchange or tether, but I have heard negative stories about Tether (unreliable and does not serve its intent properly).

I am considering bitshares based platforms for that purpose that have market pegged assets (such as silver, USD, CNY for example).

I wonder if we'll see a climb in BTC price from today 3PM when the USA wakes up on its 1st work day of 2018.

Are we out of the woods yet, or do you reckon it'll still dip again?

My feeling is that we're past the worst and it may start to slowly recover.

not a chance....

tech is becoming obsoloete very quickly with other alts coming to the fore

Testing with the Lightning Network is looking quite good, wouldn't that sort out the transfer times and cost issues

End of the day, most of the alts trade vs btc anyway. So btc isn't going anywhere.

I'm actually hoping it just stabilises at some point becomes a good store of value.

True, Bitcoin has been written off so many times, yet it always proves people wrong.
Everyone wants bitcoin, most people just try to make money off alts so that they can buy bitcoin.

Hi guys I'm here from the alt-coins thread. I'm here to peddle my wares, as imo btc has no purpose any more. It has strayed so far beyond what satoshi initially envisioned for it. This is the year of the altcoins, and while bitcoin could bounce back like it always has, wouldn't it be smart to diversify your portfolio a bit?

Admittedly some of us including myself do just want to make money, at least in the short-term. Who doesn't? However, there are some truly great things coming out of blockchain tech and it's derivatives. Look into Request Network(REQ). Built on top of ethereum, stuff like this is what could really challenge major financial institutions.

Lastly nobody is taking their profits from alts to buy btc lol...the smart thing to do is invest those profits into other alts. Btc market dominance is at an all-time low. Let's just let it die already ;)

I really doubt bitcoin is going anywhere anytime soon. It’s busy having a little snooze, but the dragon will awake again.
I don’t particularly care which coin makes me money, I just care about making money. Period.
