I also like round numbers to work with, but 300k would suit me better :)

Luno has been a waste of time lately for trading. I moved half of my BTC into ETH and altcoins on Binance and Bittrex with better short term growth almost guaranteed and the rest onto my my nano ledger s. This was the perfect time to buy with the whole altcoin market at a low.

Well one thing we can be sure of. At our current price of R175k we don't need to worry about arbitragers popping up.

This must be January fever... Hopefully things return to normal after payday.

I wonder where people got all this BTC to sell. Yesterday we had a selloff as well. So is this a new batch or is it the same guys that sold low yesterday, bought higher and now are selling even lower, making losses with every move?

Must be... Or it's people who have been holding for a while and are now realising they really have no money for school fees etc and have to sell even at a terrible price, worried it could still go lower.

Almost all of the reputable articles I've read seem to think $13k is around as low as it will go for the next few months. A lot think we should hit 15k and some even 18k. This is based on trading patterns though, and we've seem Bitcoin can be erratic.

I see it's back to 175k now. Glad I bought some more at R165k!!

logic would say that its not the same...sell volume has to be greater than buy volume for price to move down.

i really thought it was the other way around..

nope... more buyers equals more demand which drives the price up.

more sellers means excess supply on the market driving the price down.

price is purely determined by demand on luno

now that makes so much more sense in my brain!

you guys judge the supply and demand based on the order book right? the reds and greens?

Not necessarily more unique individuals though. Yesterday there were guys selling 20 BTC at a time which makes up a large portion of the sell volume.

depth chart give you a better illustrtation.

to simplify terribly .... if green is bigger than red on the depth chart price should push up as more buyers.

if red is bigger than green then selling pressure so price should move down.

it also allows you to see where the buy and sell walls are.
