The BMW 320d Fanboy Thread

An update of my story.

Got confirmation that the glass is original BMW glass (Thanks @Gtx Gaming)

The fitment guys first rocked up with a windshield. He looked at the car. Looked at his phone. Looked at the car. Dropped a F-bomb. Apologised, said he'll be in contact and left. Phoned me an hour or so later to confirm they ordered the glass from BMW and they'll come the next day first thing.

Today they rocked up and fitted the sunroof. They were so early I that I was still in bed when I received the notification that they pitched.

Everything is good now, car can do 250km/h 120km/h again. I'm going to be paranoid about this thing going boom again though.

If you google exploding sunroof, it does seem to be BMW problem. Maybe non original glass would've been better.

Atm tuning, making that 330d shine!

Hmm - agree on the "loud bang" comment above. If not engine, definitely gearbox.

335d's with similar mods push around 330kw +-.

370kw is flying very close to the sun, and TBH I am not sure how much of that is even usable with RWD? (335d's come with Xdrive option in the UK).

Or maybe I am just jealous

Yup. Best case scenario, that 330d is fitted with a ZF 8HP76, which can handle a maximum of 760 Nm of torque from the factory. Let's hope the owner at least changes the transmission fluid every 50 000 / 60 000 km. I guess that's what ZF refers to as "severe duty".

I've come across a 2014 F30 320D - M Performance edition, Auto that i'm interested in.

Can anyone advise what i should look at in terms of failure points etc?
Has the timing chain issue been fixed from 2010 on the N47?

Has full service history at BMW (according to buyer) - 135K KM is the current mileage

get the vin, and check it up with bmw yourself, if its got full service, the only real things to check , is body lines ( for accident damage) and if the gearbox service / flush has been done, they say life time, but around 120k it is advised ( this can be done at zf themselves)

Thanks, i've requested the VIN from the seller already and awaiting his response. Seller claims it's never been in an accident.

No seller will disclose any accident even if they had one, 99% people are dishonest when they sell cars lol

Just make sure all bumpers are lined up with no gaps.

Someone grab it, clean example also. These don't come up for sale much.

Its interior is neat! Found the listing

The only bit that irks me slightly , but might just be the way the photo was taken, but the photo from the back, the rear bumper , the panel gap from the back , to the wheel arch seems to get bigger , looks a bit off
