The BMW 320d Fanboy Thread

Eish Mekor is suppose to be a decent dealership, they advertising the car accident free lol it was clearly in a accident.

It it is pretty rare spec as it has upgraded 8 inch nav.

maybe they mean like major accident, not fender benders
 
Joe Achilles dropped a vid of a '11 E90 320d stick shift that did 250k miles (400k kilos). It will be going on a roadtrip to the factory in Germany.

 
Anyone gone through the process of extending their motorplan on 220d or 320d?
Mine expires in late September 2027, so next year.
  1. Would it be best to just do the extension closer to the expiry date?
  2. I am currently at 44,000km, I currently do about 25000km a year, would it be better to do the 24 month extension
  3. Do I just rawdog it and go to BMW specialist after expiry?

Like most things it depends :D

I got the oil and something else package on the X3 for R11k for 3 years if memory serves. I did this because I didn't want to pay R50k odd for 2 years and because if/when I sell I would still like the services to still have the BMW dates since it matters to some peeps.

I put the R39k aside and I've only had to get brakes which were R5k (front and back) and wipers :).
The diesels are pretty bullet proof.

I also have a ex-BMW tech 10min from me :D So that helps. If you are in JHB North, pop me a message and I'll send you his details. He is affordable and a really cool dude. Recommended a few people to him already.

Call and get a quote from BMW or check on the website. It might get more expense closer to the expiry but I don't remember tbh.

This sounds great, I think that oil change one makes a lot of sense then just put the rest away (and remember not to spend it, lol!)

had the same decision to make a number of years ago when my 320d motor plan ran out. BMW wanted R50k per year at the time to extend.
I told them to politely take a hike,
I got an extended warranty for another 2 years. Nothing went wrong.
Just get an oil service plan if they still offer that and you plan to keep the vehicle or find a private specialist in your area.
