yeah crazy that little torque difference makes

im sure around a track the m2 would be way quicker

i would never pay around 400k more for someething with little difference to power

i see a 240i goes for around 700k and m2 over a mill
 
I saw another bloke that went to the show saw that M4 GTS. It was not there went I was walking by the BMW Club maybe at 12 side.

the owner has the m2,m3 and m4

wondering if he will get a 1m,m5 and m6 :D
 
Last week, we discovered that BMW is reportedly planning to create a new range of performance cars, which will bear the “CS” badge and sit directly above the M models.

According to a “trusty” source on Bimmerpost, the M2 CS will make use of the twin-turbo 3,0-litre straight-six S55B30 currently found in the M4.

The rumour also suggests that the power output will be turned down to 300 kW, obviously so that it does not threaten the performance of the M4. In addition, the little hyper-coupé will apparently benefit from an assortment of aero-parts, a track-focused suspension setup and a more aggressive exhaust system.

Furthermore, the embedded video below shows what could be the aforementioned prototype doing its rounds at the Nürburgring, sounding quite a bit like its bigger brother, the M4.

The M2 CS is expected to be revealed by 2018, and likely be based on the upcoming facelifted version of the coupé.

Of course, Alpha-N Performance has already developed a pseudo-M2 GTS package (pictured here) that makes do with the current N55 engine. Dähler Design & Technik, however, has already dropped an M4 engine in the M2, but without any of the dramatic bodywork.

"Overcast weather with a serious storm looming meant that our BMW M2 drive was going to be extra exciting. Killarney is a notoriously slippery surface, even when dry. Throw water into the mix and you might as well be driving on an ice rink. We were extremely lucky as our late-to-arrive M2 headed out onto a drying track. It had a tough task to beat two AWD hyper-hatches and a demonically fast FWD Civic Type-R, but unlike the others, the M2 kept getting faster and faster. What differentiates it from its M siblings is that it isn’t constantly trying to break traction when you shift up a gear, it feels more planted and accessible than the M3/4/5. It got to the point where I was trading ultimate lap time for mild drifts out of the corners just because it was so fun to control. I’m no good at picking winners, but, if I was to pick one winner for a #CarsAwards trophy, it would be the BMW M2 for Performance Car of the Year."

Sounds like something out of top gear.

The slowest and cheapest M car is the fastest and most fun to drive... (I deliberately ignored the 1M, as I see it as a 135 not an M car...)

A Swiss tuner has created a BMW M2 Convertible.

If you like fast convertibles and small coupés, then you’re probably disappointed that the M2 isn’t offered as a droptop. But don’t fret, because Swiss tuning company Dähler Design and Technik has your back.

Even though BMW executives say the M2 is too hardcore to make a compelling convertible, Dähler disagrees.

The tuning firm has unveiled its own M2, and it looks rather convincing, if you ask us.

Dähler doesn’t seem to be decapitating original M2s though, but rather modifying stock 2 Series Convertibles with added body and performance upgrades.

The Dähler M2 Convertible has been tuned to boast even more power than the stock coupé’s 272 kW and 465 N.m of torque.

The firm offers the droptop in two stages of tune: Level 1 sees the turbocharged 3,0-litre inline six uprated to 300 kW and 580 N.m, with a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 4 seconds, while Level 2 is an even more impressive 312 kW and 610 N.m of torque.

Dähler has also installed a bespoke stainless steel exhaust system to make sure the M2 sounds as good as it looks. The rear diffuser features quad exhaust pipes with a dark metal look.

The convertible’s interior remains largely unchanged, except for a MID-display replacing the driver’s side air vent. The small screen shows useful information such water and oil temperatures.
