Anybody want to take a wild guess where I stopped my bulk, started a batch of ECA and stopped the ECA again ;)

I generally only get DOMS after leg day, and it's really not debilitating. I feel it all over if I skip a week though.

@ Apoc, has your resting heart rate always been around 67bpm?

Same here. I might get some stiffness about 24hours later but no real DOMS. But after the month long pneumonia layoff, getting back into the gym was painful as hell.

RE: RHR. It hovers around 60 normally. About 6 months ago when I was at my leanest (6 pack) and fittest (cardio wise) it was down to between 50-55.

Edit: I didn't track it when I was overweight. Only started when I was down plenty of KG. But it couldn't have been a pretty number.

Hi guys,

I've NEVER taken any supplements before but I'm considering taking a pre workout.

I've just hit 30 and i've found that i'm slowing down in terms of energy levels, so I'd just like something to give me a small boost.

Having never taken anything like this before, what should I consider?

Note: I'm not a bodybuilder or a gym junkie. I prefer to get my exercise from things like boxing and kung fu (not sure if this makes a difference, being more of a cardio based exercise and less weight intensive)

At the moment i'm looking at SSN and ON:

http://dischem.co.za/product-view/19520/ssn-creapump-concentrate-200g-grape
http://dischem.co.za/product-view/73639/optimum-gold-pre-workout-330g-apple

Any thoughts or assistance you can offer?

Thanks!

I'm 31 and I swear by a good pre-workout. But... I do have a really high caffeine tolerance.

My suggestion is go for either Muscletech's Neurocore (buy from Dischem) or Titan Lab's Berserker (buy from Chrome).

Just be warned, once you take pre-workout, there's no going back. It's become a necessity for me. :D

I am the same, only 28 though :p

I like Noxipro / Red Line white heat and Jack3d original formula. Those seem to work the best for me.

My pre workout of choice now is the Nutritech Amino pre - no crazy stimulants and much cheaper than the Optimum Amino Pre. Does the job as I train in the afternoon. No insane amounts of caffeine and a clean energy with no dropoff.

Why do you count the bar in your weight lol...

Then I am doing 180 for 4 :p I should count the bar :whistling:

How can you not count the bar? Its part of the weight you are lifting is it not? Its a full 20KG and you would know, even at 180KG that makes a difference.

Eh?

Everybody I know or have seen on youtube adds the bars weight

It's an olympic bar XD not some flimsy bar that weighs nothing heh

But even so, it's only makes sense to say I benched 110kg because, it literally is 110.

Besides, now you can tell people you're doing 180 which sounds a hella lot better than 160 even tho 160 is already a **** ton !

Erm because that's the weight you're benching. Different bars weigh different weights. How else are you supposed to know what you're pushing?

If you don't know the weight of the bar
...you don't know what exact weight you lifting.
