The Bodybuilders Thread: Circuit II

Just stumbled on this channel and series on Youtube.

This guy is going to eat 4000 calories for 21 straight days on a keto diet and back up his progress with all kind of tests. Currently 8 days in.

I've watched the first few days now and must say it is going to be interesting to see the results. Granted this guy is already shredded as hell and unfortunately it is a 1 sample group "study". Still has me intrigued.

His fat intake is insane!!

If anybody else is going to bother watching this. Would love to hear your thoughts.

Here is the Intro video. The rest is on his channel.

Anybody know of a place to get a good sports massage in Durban? I work on my computer all day and that combined with regular training leaves me with lots of sore trigger points in my back and neck.

^^ @ Apoc Nice find, going to follow that and see if he pegs so I don't have to :D

I'm home now.

So I was walking around scantily clad in the hospital because the gown they gave me covered maybe 60% of my body lol. Felt weird, like my front was covered 100%, but then it was tight by my lats and couldn't close at the back. Probably looked ridiculous.

When I laid on the anasthesia table, the lady pulls up the sleeves and exclaims, 'my what big, beautiful... veins you have' :(

Also I'm bloated AF from the drip, and also down about 1.5 kg's cause I couldn't eat at all after the anasthesia and I was fasted going into it. Ugh. I swear, surgery is a lifters nightmare.

Heading into my final few days of a much longer than anticipated cut but extremely happy with the results.

Can't tell you how excited I am to start eating at around maintenance from the 5th of March. Planning a little cheat day on my daughter's birthday (4 March) and after that it is straight into maintenance.

Even with all the comments from friends, family and strangers about how good I look, cutting just takes such a massive strain on you mentally. Lifts have stayed pretty much within a 5% range and I am happy with that.

If I get a good photo or two on my last day of the cut (good lighting and nice dry look) I might share. :p

Did anyone see the story last night on Carte Blanche about intermittent fasting (well they called it something like the wolf diet). Talking about how the food industry has put us into the habit of eating way more often than we need to.

There was also something about guys doing the comrades having only eaten the night before

Didn't see the story but I've been doing IF for quite a while now and always busy reading up on it.

Great and relatively easy plan to follow to reduce BF. I'll be doing my maintenance on it as well when I finish this cut.

It is not a miracle plan or something, it basically comes down to it limiting the amount of calories you can shove down your throat. But it also helps with insulin spikes and all blood sugar levels.

I've tried a few 23:1 fasts the last few weeks but it really is tough on me because I am already low on BF% and quite active. Also tough to get 2000+ calories in whole foods down in one sitting. Fat helps of course but I will be sticking with a 18:6 split at this stage.

It's nice to see the broader population coming to realize that IF is the way forward, and there's no reason to eat 6 times a day or whatever. People often look at me weird when I tell them I don't eat breakfast.

But yeah, I haven't really tried the 23:1 thing yet. Usually get hungry by about 12 every day - maybe it's a mental thing. 18:6 works for me, but i agree that's it's no miracle diet or anything - just that people are eating way too much because of all the meals they're having every few hours or so

Well, we have enough glycogen stores to last a while. I don't see a need to "carbo load" before endurance events, as those events usually have plenty en route, or you just carry stuff around to eat while on the move. The most important thing is to race like you train though!

Glad that IF has received some intelligent commentary though.

turns out Ive been doing IF for years, besides coffee in the morning I cant be bothered to eat anything till 11-12 everyday, When I started working out I came in at 12% bodyfat

On the other side of the coin

Just coming back to that Jason Wittrock series and eating 4000+ keto calories a day.

Shocked to see the guy is actually down in weight after 13 days. And he is not even working out every day.

Will of course be interesting to see the official BF% scans, tests and numbers when the challenge is over.

What do you guys this of the following routine:

Monday morning: chest
Monday afternoon: cardio
Tuesday: biceps, forearms and triceps
Wednesday: Shoulders
Thursday: Legs
Friday:
Saturday: Core and cardio

Looking to change things up a bit. Been doing it this way for the past few months:

Monday morning: Chest and triceps
Monday afternoon: Cardio
Tuesday: Biceps, forearms and shoulders
Thursday: Back
Friday: Legs
Saturday: Cardio and core

The only issue I see is that your shoulders are working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday as well as you training triceps the day after chest.

Maybe swap Tuesday and Thursday around?

Sorry - I left back from Friday:

Monday morning: chest
Monday afternoon: cardio
Tuesday: biceps, forearms and triceps
Wednesday: Shoulders
Thursday: Legs
Friday: Back
Saturday: Core and cardio

And you recon this:

Monday morning: chest
Monday afternoon: cardio
Tuesday: Legs
Wednesday: Shoulders
Thursday: biceps, forearms and triceps
Friday: Back
Saturday: Core and cardio

I would actually recommend:

Monday morning: chest
Monday afternoon: cardio
Tuesday: Legs
Wednesday: biceps, forearms and triceps
Thursday: Shoulders
Friday: Back
Saturday: Core and cardio

This way your biceps aren't getting trained the day before back

Really enjoying this. Watching it each day.

Whilst doing squats I get a sort of shooting pain in my right knee cap, only on the right. I do ass to the grass squats but not even heavy.

Any idea what is going on?
