Here's a Kauai smoothie for anyone that wants. Only 1 is valid, I just don't know which one. Expires today.

And so Jason's 21 day 4000 calorie keto challenge is fininshed. Must say it was really informative.. I enjoyed checking in every day.

Certainly opened my eyes wrt the calorie in/calorie out way of thinking

I still can't believe people believe in calories in calories out

Its like me telling you that, to become rich, all you need to do is earn more than you spend.

Technically true but utterly useless.

I never got around to watching any of the videos, mind giving a run down and results?

It was a good series to watch indeed.

I was amazed at the amount of fat he was consuming as well as very little protein on some days.

Granted, 21 days (and a sample size of 1) isn't long enough to see any major changes in muscle loss/gain. But the fact that he actually lost a kilogram while consuming what was certainly way above his TDEE is amazing. And by his own admission his workouts were not as regular and intense due to all the extra blogging and editing going on.

Certainly gives me hope for my upcoming maintenance period from this Monday. If his experiment is anything to go by I might actually get even leaner and more defined. #excited

But lets be honest too. That could not have been a cheap experiment to run and the fact that he is a paid/sponsored athlete must have been a lot of help. Not a lot of us will be able to live that lifestyle due to the costs.

Eating 4k calories a day for me on long training days is costing a fortune. How many was he consuming? I really want to go through his videos, but just don't have the time. I have been hearing of some athletes eating huge amounts of good fats, and their performance not suffering. It's very perplexing.

And then veering off the current topic: Anyone here suffer from Femoral Nerve Entrapment or pinching?

Back to doing squats after months of no squatting due to a hip flexor injury. 3x180kg, no pain. Now to get back to form.

Come swim with me. You will get massive shoulders in no time. :crylaugh:

I have massive issues with my left hip flexor when running. Still not sure what the real problem is. What happened? Please tell me your story. I have until June to prepare for my Ironman 70.3, and I can't have months downtime.

I;m guessing it's my hip flexor that was the issue. Tendon pain in the hip (what it feels like) and lower back pain. I am not sure how it happened, but I did notice slight discomfort climbing stairs, getting up quickly, etc etc. It did not affect my day to day walking or other activities. In the beginning I could also not do legpresses without discomfort. I could NOT squat, that was painful (I squat very deep). So much to my dismay, I abandoned squats for a few months.

Yesterday I squatted again, warmed up with 3 x 20 reps of just the bar. Then 2 x 20 of 60kg. I could feel it, but it felt "tight", not sore. Went up to 100kg, no pain, no tightness, nothing. 140kg no problem, 180kg no problem. But since I haven't been squatting for a long time, I could not do a lot of reps. :o

Mine sounds different than yours, running was not an issue. :/

Dang. I notice the pain the most when running. Otherwise it's hard to lift the leg (like when putting on pants or getting in my car). Guess I have to go spend some time at the physio. I really wish running were not so hard on the body. It really brings out all the little issues.

Glad your issue is getting better. Maybe look at doing some hip flexor stretches after your lifting to make sure you don't get injured again.

he should include some for the sciatic nerve, my girlfriend showed me the pigeon pose when I had issues and that sorted me out

I'm only saying it's hip flexor because of the symptoms I read on the Internet :o

It's definitely not sciatic. I can still feel it every now and then, but it's merely a 'presence' , in the background, nothing bothering me.

Does anyone have a link for warming up specific muscles.. Reason for me asking is that I seem to tweak something in my back when I do my core exercise at home and I'm sure it's some muscle I'm not warming up properly.
