The Bodybuilders Thread: Circuit II

Better in terms of what? What are you trying to achieve?
Just want to know which would be better in terms of exercising abs, do them all at once or spread them out thoughout the workout

I prefer to beat up my core at the end, If Im doing deadlifts, squats, and overhead presses I'd rather get through them before those core muscles are fatigued

With compound movements, we engage our core a lot more. Would prefer to keep my form spot on for those larger movements, and suffer through core specific stuff at the end.

Mowgs, what abs / core moves are you doing?

Hanging leg raises, crunches, sit ups and then a ab machine where there are straps over your shoulders thats connected to a weight.

I do 3 sets of each, 20 reps per set.

Anybody else watch the Netflix documentary, Icarus, about Russia doping.

Absolutely mind-boggling stuff. But really not totally unexpected.

And I would believe USA and China have similar programs in place.

I watched it. Was pretty interesting to see how much political influence there is in sports. I am also sure that many age groupers also dope. I can understand the mindset when non-professional athletes have a desire to dope, I just don't believe it's true competition. Gains eventually start slowing down to the point where we are only picking up 5 to 10 watts per month on the bike, and a few seconds off a 5km time trial. Some months don't even yield gains, and psychologically, it feels like a massive blow.

It's always a question at the back of my mind when watching some of the triathlete age groupers get mind boggling times on a light training schedule.

I guess we will never have an equal playing field until doping is allowed.

Hey guys,

I am 1,75m and 66kg.

yesterday I started mixing Creatine with my whey. I us only 5g or a heaped tea spoon.

Basically I just want to know how much water should i drink per day?

Everyone says you have to drink a lot of water for your kidneys.

You really should be aiming to drink lots of water anyway. Regardless of whether you are using Creatine or not. Staying hydrated is arguably one of the most important factors in overall health.

Personally I do about 5-6lt of water a day. Excl a few cups of coffee through the day.

3% of your body weight in liters should be enough water per day for you. About a liter more if you are using creatine.

I consume at least 1.5lt just during my workouts.

That's hectic. What are you doing to need so much water? I do a 90 minute intense spin and only drink 2 x 750ml bottles, and there is usually a little pool under my bike after. I can get through a 10km run with 250ml. Don't think it is necessary to drink so much. Read a lot of advise on this, and usually drinking according to thirst is good enough (if your diet is balanced).

Heavy lifting for 70min on average.
Combine that with a super hot garage gym and a keto diet (shed loads of water) and I can easily up the water intake to 2lt if I really needed.

I have never had any ill effects from consuming that much water. In fact when I take in less I start to feel lethargic and "deflated"
