The machine at planet fitness gave you your results in percentages, or was it in kg? 1kg of muscle loss is not that much if you weigh 100kg, it's relative. Anyways, that method of measuring body composition is not that accurate, but I suppose it is a consistent way to track body comp assuming your diet and timing of when you measure is consistent. First thing in the morning is usually best.
5kg of weight loss in 4 months is not that fast, but this is relative to your current body weight.
If you were doing much more strength training than you currently are doing, then it does stand to reason you will lose muscle. Use it or lose it...
Are you trying to lose fat? Are you eating enough protein to preserve muscle mass?
If you train first thing in the morning ( pre 6am).
What is the best type of food to eat the night before for optimal energy for a heavy lifting session? I do not have time to eat or drink pre workout, besides water.
Thanks.

Define heavy lifting? 200kg squats? Post a video of you doing 200kg squats first thing in the morning. Would love to see that.
I can only imagine, triathlon training... sounds rough, good luckTrying to drop my last 5kg of fat, which should take me to a BF percentage of around 19%, and preserve what muscle I managed to build, while doing all my triathlon training. It's pretty rough.<snip>
Are you sure you are getting enough quality sleep? I sleep a minimum of 8 hours a night. Your body could be fatigued, and you are looking for stimulants to make you feel like you have "energy". Think that is often overlooked, and probably one of the key things to promote growth and healing between sessions.
How much you taking? And do you have a wife / girlfriend?Time for my to-Es -ter- on jab in my butt.
Came so close today to hitting that 30 tons lifted. Failed on my last 2 reps of final hack squat sets otherwise I would have hit it. Next time for sure.
All free weights.

How many weeks does one need for a cut?
What are good filler type foods, to avoid hunger during a cut? i.e. Low calories to snack on type stuff?Depends on your starting point and how lean you want to get. I want to get absolutely diced to my socks, so I'll be dieting all the way into December, and then starting a proper contest prep in the new year once I choose a show to do. I'll look at one of the earliest shows of the season, around March.

Other than that, drink lots of water?

We've all had that sinking feeling: You bring the barbell down, and you just know you’re not getting it back up. If you have a spotter there to help hoist it, it’s no big deal. You can shake it off, take a rest, and try again another time.
But if you’re on your own, you don’t have that luxury—and it can be deadly. That was the case for 15-year-old rugby player Ben Shaw, who died in the hospital days after he was crushed under a bench press, as Australia’s ABC News reports.
