The Bodybuilders Thread: Circuit II

This looks like a good price for a good quality whey combo. R390 / 2kg
I might just give it a try.

The Hurricane Whey formula was aimed at being the quickest absorbing whey protein blend in order to take full advantage of the post workout window of oppurtunity.
The high bio-availabilty of these 3 proteins (whey concentrate, whey isolate, whey hydrolysate) allow the muscles to be fed immediately with amino acids to prevent muscle breakdown and ensure muscle build up. The fact that whey is high in branch chain amino acids means that it is able prevent muscle breakdown better than other proteins in the time immediately post workout.

Is it an imported product?

Based on the ingredients list which is minimal compared to our local stuff

Smith machine, using it like this is only advisable when  ?? If injured and not able to use free weights or if competing and trying to isolate muscles?

I stay far away from the Smith machine - although that and the cables seem to be the most popular equipment at the VA I go to...

Videos like this is part of the problem IMO because you have people using the Smith machine for their entire bloody workouts.
I see it as a addition that can be used when you're already taxing the body through free weights and want to prevent injury possible.

Doesn't have anything to do with competing or isolation since you can still use free weights :)

our smith machines the uprights are so bent and caked up that the machine weight alone is half of what i can push, so annoying, from people curling on them, using them incorrectly and otherwise loading with exhorbitant weights that they in anycase do a 20% range of motion with.

I like the cables. Specially using them for flys - all variations. Add in a bench with variable incline and you got a great workout.

The constant tention, for me at least, gives me a much better workout and the fact I can cross my arms a bit helps with muscle contraction. Can't do that with dumbbells. All have their place.

I use the cables as well on chest days - if I get a chance to.

A friend of mine is new to lifting. She used the Smith machine to get the hang of the squatting motion, but has since started using the squat rack now that she's improved her form (and dat ass).

But squatting in the Smith machine has always been reserved for bru's who have huge upper bodies, but have never heard of leg day. So I guess it's acceptable if you're one of them.

Anybody taking Animal stak? I want to combine it with pak, but these test/gh boosters always sound like a bunch of balls to me. A guy I used to train with advised me to mix the two, want some more opinions first.

I only ever had pak, they do suggest to pair it. The stuff is just too expensive. Pak is just a massive dose of slow release multivitamins. I pissed fluorescent until the night with that stuff.
