I get between 215 and 250g a day currently. My base meals are 300g chicken breasts, 300g sirloin steak, 300g extra lean (<10% fat) mince meat. I chop and change between those 3 meats (i.e. sometimes 600g breast and 300g mince like today) and work my carbs and fats around them. That accounts for +-1000-1200kcal. I don't use shakes, but since it's so hot, I bought a tub so I can have protein smoothies for breakfast.

My protein is high because I'm cutting. On a bulk, I keep it between 150g and 200g.

I also hit all my muscle groups at least every 72 hours (sometimes every 48 hours) as opposed to the once-a-week thing most people do (inefficient), so I try and get a bit more protein than the average.

That doesn't math. Assuming all the lean cuts have 25% protein on average, 900g would give you 225g of protein already. Unless I'm misunderstanding something?

Yeah, unfortunately that is the name of the game.

Remember, those are my base meals that only account for +-1000-1200kcal. I still have another 1000kcal to play with via snacks, additions to my base meals etc. That's where the remaining protein comes from.

That means you get 25g of protein from all other sources...which doesn't sound likely.

I think he means it is unlikely to ONLY get that amount :) It is a tiny amount after all. Only 100 calories.

Really? I don't think that's what he meant. Even so, there's still nothing unlikely about getting only 25g from 1000kcals. It all depends on what you're eating. The whole point of a calorie is that it is composed of either carbs, fats or protein. You cannot automatically assume what is in it. On average, I get around the ~250g mark on MyFitnessPal. Sometimes a bit more. Sometimes a bit less.

Ergo - you are taking in more protein that you think. That is my assumption.

We all know it's REALLY easy to take in 25g of protein :)

We all know it's REALLY easy to take in 25g of protein :)

I track everything on MyFitnessPal. I actually don't get a lot of protein from that 1000kcals. Its carbs and fats with protein in it not protein with carbs and fats, if you know what I mean.

Does anybody know where I can that belt you'd hook on a plate or dumbbell when doing weighted pull ups and dips? I've tried tucking a dumbbell in between my legs but my right hamstring didn't like it

Somebody here mentioned making your own.

So I did it too.

Just use carabiner hooks, a piece of chain and a belt (I used a piece of spare ratchet straps I had laying around).

Works like a bomb.

I will but it will only be on Sunday or Monday.

We are heading out of town for the weekend after work.

Almost packed my dumbbell set because I'm going to miss my arms workout.

But that will then be my "And that is how the fight started" story with the wife.

The Dipping Belt has a support ring on one end and a chain and clasp attached to a similar ring on the other end. These components enable you to hang weight plates from your waist. You can use the dipping belt by placing it around your waist and then passing the clasp and chain through the ring on the opposite end of the belt.

Pulling the chain tightens the belt around your waist. Next, pass the clasp and chain through one or more weight plates and then fasten the clasp onto the ring that the other end of the chain is attached to, as shown in pic2.

You'll notice that the weight of the plates keeps the belt tightened around your waist, as shown in pic3. You can now carefully walk over to the parallel bars and perform some weighted dips.
Instead of a leather belt I used a nice wide ratchet strap. And all my "hooks" are carabiners. Even the ones on the belt.
