None of the calculators ever work for me, a proper evaluation is the only thing that will do it. On a standard BMI calculation im "morbidly obese" :p

Me too :(

But taking my waist and neck - I have a body fat % of 19% - and a lean body mass of 100kg :p

Anyone know of a gym that would be able to give proper advice on lifting technique?

My squats literally died after I hurt my hip in December - and I just can't get them right...went from 150kg full to struggling with 95kg.

Don't trust advice from Virgin.

Perhaps it's not your technique, but your body. What type of injury did you sustain?

no clue - just started hurting the one day. When it was better, I started fiddling with different techniques, high bar, low bar, foot position, etc... and now I just can't squat like I used too.

Pretty sure its technique related, as it feels like I'm lifting at an angle forward instead of up - tried changing it, but always ends the same.

Besides squat, I'd also like some coaching on my other lifts, bench and dead-lift.

Bumping this thread..Signed up just to post here..Any of you guys used KT tape for your wrists for support? My wrists always give out too soon, this is also atrributed to my poor grip strength.

Do you use straps?

Saw the funniest thing today, guy was 'deadlifting' about 240kg's

first of all he took about 10 minutes in between "sets" which was a little bit frustrating because I wanted the squat rack, but it was worth the wait as it was hilarious to watch anyway.. possibly the worst form i've seen in my life, arched back, legs looked like they were going to snap they were shaking so badly, bent elbows, and sheer desperation to lift the weight.. the added scream on his one "rep" was classic

dont these chops notice when half the gym is rolling their eyes at them?

Xrapidx uses kt tape when his elbow was injured if I recall, he says great stuff.

On what lift are your wrists giving out and how much you lifting?

Haven't tried them yet..Would it not be pointless on excercises like dumbell presses etc?

yes it would
but I was thinking in terms of deadlifts etc, and was going to advise against using them for a while.. but no need then :)

if your wrists are hurting on db presses then your grip is probably wrong

On my db shoulder press mainly, having problems getting 24s up..also on my db press getting the 30s up...once I'm up I usually get somebody to spot my wrists and I'm good to go.Might not seem too heavy but I'm only 16 :P

If you are talking single weights in each hand I don't think that is little considering your age at all :p
