About 3 months ago I decided to stick to strict form and lighter weights, higher reps as opposed to my max-ot based work out, heavy as possible, with a bit of cheating
I've lost so much muscle in those 3 months its ridiculous,
Tonight I went back to overloading my muscles as opposed to tiring them out and I had such a good work out,
So to strict form and high reps i say GBYE!
hello power :)

I already discovered that - and I still get questions why on some weeks I only do 1-2 reps on my last set

I used to only train like that, but decided to try something different, you live you learn :(

1-2 rep sets are the best
especially with chest
just need a spotter with a brain, and virgin active doesnt employ those

You'd be lucky if you see a VA staff member on the Century City weight floor.

Table View always has a few, and they seem pretty good, and willing to help.

I love powerlifting too, but both bodybuilding and powerlifting have their place IMHO.

Currently I do both in a week, I have 2 days doing powerlifting, a day rest, then 3 days hypertrophy with dynamic effort worked in, then another day rest. There is now all of a sudden a new niche forming I saw mails from yesterday about programs like these, called powerbodybuilding or powerbuilding.

Basically, powerlifting makes you stronger, a lot stronger, and bodybuilding...well not stronger just pump up your muscles to try and induce growth.

I find that working both, I get much better results for both, and it is actually easier to get your muscles to grow bigger (which is what I want). In the last 2 months (I started this program 3 months ago) I have received the most compliments I ever have about improvement. It is awesome to be stronger, it is even more awesome when you can show it without actually having to lift weights to prove it.

So, I walk a fine line, which few do, and do both. But I have a feeling, you may find more and more people on the internet following a similar route.

How many rest days to you guys take a week?

Tried standing Cable Rows yesterday, my upper lats and traps are feeling it now, should of brought some deep heat to work.

For me it depends on the program. Used to do a 3 day a week program, so 1 day workout 1 day rest. Now on my current program, it should be: 2 day powerlifting straight after each other, then day rest, then 3 days hypertrophy straight after another, then one day rest again.

My ZMA, GABA and BCAA arrived from Muscleworks/Supplementfactory - should keep me going for long time.

All packaged in their own containers.

Am impressed my their service , people replied quickly, still waiting for stock report from BSAA who will never see my cash again.

Spot on! And the ones not talking up the ladies ARE the ladies! And I can't bring myself to get a woman to spot me on bench... :banghead:

Interesting, always wondered about this.

Seems you have done the test for me.

Keeping good form with lat pull downs and seated cable rows is a bitch after already doing heavy deadlifts and bent over barbell rows. My forearms and grip always start failing before my back so I started using straps and within a few weeks my strength went up quite a bit with improved form. With straps I can deadlift way more as well. Only use them on 140KG+ so I still work my grip and forearms.

Guys diss using straps but I see Ronnie used them in his videos as well as Phil Heath so whatever.

I prefer chalk.... when I was doing lat pulldowns I even used it there... going to start using straps on dumbell rows though, I just can't keep grip on 40kg+ dumbells, the handle feels to small
