[side question]
when ppl talk weight, do they/you include the weight of the bar? I don't, but most of my friends and boss do

Weight of the bar is always included. You are lifting it after all aren't you?

So 100kg would be 2x 20kg plates per side. 5x20=100.

For the americans 220lbs is also a huge milestone, seeing as it is 2x of the big plates each side.

if you are one of those bone heads who drop weights for attention then go eff yourself, or if you grunt like an idiot as well, everyone makes a noise when lifting very heavy but please if you sound like a female tennis player benching a WHOLE 60kg then you have a problem bru

No, firstly, the floor in my old gym (VA Gardens) has padded floors, You can actually throw the dumb ells in that gym and it wont make a sound besides a silent thump. My problem is that dead lifts are normally a tad noisier than other exercises because the weights tend to make a 'clink' sound when the weights jiggle around the olympic bar weight shaft. The only way to stop this is if you do dead lifts really slowly, and i mean really slowly.

Also I don't dead lift heavy, currently dead lifting ~ 65% of my 1RM.

Also seeking attention at the gym? What's wrong with you people. We do not do such things while praying in the temple of brodin.

Hey guys,

Has anyone here purchased whey protein from ebay before? The prices are much cheap than locally, but I'm not sure how safe it'll be.

Unless you have an import permit, don't throw away your money. Customs are very strict nowadays, where any sort of supplement needs an import permit, and if you don't have one, they will just destroy the items.

Now you can get the permit, but its really not worth the effort imho.

Then on top of that, you need to rework out the price. There is import tax, and regular VAT you need to add to the price, as well as shipping. So the price is not really as much cheaper as you think it is.

How much cheaper exactly? I'm also inclined to think that if you can put in that kind of effort, you can cook proper tupperware meals on Sunday for the week ahead and skip the supps.

To hit your macros without whey is incredibly hard I find. Unless you are well off financially and can afford a good high in protein diet, I dont know how you can eat 200g protein/day (assuming you want to abide by the 0.8g-1.2g of protein per lbs body weight guideline).

getting 100g of protein from food alone is very do-able and then getting the other 100 from whey is easy too (~4scoops). I normally hit 180g-200g a day.

Props dude!! :) Long way to go before I can do like 140% of my body weight!!
Thanks :)

It was a target for me for the longest time after hitting body weight on bench. Actually had it up as a milestone for the end of 2012 on Fitocracy. Just shows you, how long it can take.

Can the nice folks from CT please advise as to where one would buy 'health related' food products? Specifically I mean like fat free Greek yogurt/cream cheese/normal cheese/whipped cream and stuff like pure pumpkin/unsweetened apple juice etc. I know Dis-chem is a good bet for dry ingredients, but since I don't know CT that well (only been here 3 months), I'm not sure where I could find the other ingredients. Thanks

Strong this.

And it's cheaper as well.

brb 72g of protein per 100g costing me R500 and lasting two months.

Now try getting that amount from any food, ever at a price similar.

Hi guys.

As mentioned in one of my previous posts, I am trying yo follow the Chris Gethin program on bodybuilding.com

I am now halfway through the program and I am seeing results but I am battling to complete the program every day, it is really getting hectic. I am considering to go back to day one and start again. Your Thoughts?

I'd say rather stick with the program where it's at or go back one or two steps then continue. Back to the beginning would be extreme. Don't worry about fitting in rest days and prolonging the overall timeframe. Rest is not bad when your body demands it. You're in it for the long haul, not just a 6 week program (dont know how long the program is).

WoW nice. How do you get your OHP to be so close to your bench?

My bench is now double what my OHP is.

I honestly don't know, all I am doing is OHP in the 5x5 rep range and I started at 25kg's and every week so far I have gotten stronger.

I do think that my bench press form may be wrong though, perhaps that's what's stalling me.

I do my OHP standing, I don't know if that makes a difference.

Yeah, IS's pics show his shoulders are a force to be reckoned with in the big picture. Everyone has their strong points - Lee Priest has biceps

and Mustafa Mohammed has legs

But I won't be telling either of them to sort out their routine any time soon :D
