What is your opinion of Creatine HCL?

I have only ever used Monohydrate, but i ran out and got Evox Creatine HCL for free with my Whey Protein.

Is it just as good?

Well - my diet went to **** last week, my parents were down, so I took some time off and showed them Cape Town, put on 3kg :p

I stepped back a week in my program - so have four weeks left, 2kg a week :-/

losing 2kg a week would probably not be healthy

The gyming had to take a bit of a back seat this week, have yet to hit the gym this week, hectic program.

On a positive, my half power rack is almost complete, should be done with it tomorrow and then to test it out. Can't wait to give my chest a good solid workout on my new equipment.

Well 3 days into my new program, its a 6 days a week program, so pretty hectic. I am already sore all over my body. Not so bad that I can't do anything, but I definitely know I worked out properly this week thus far. Next when shoulders and arms hurt as well I will literally feel it all over.

I read it has better absorption rate that monohydrate so looking at getting myself some.

Does the HCL come in powder form?

Speaking of missing workouts, how often do you guys train?

I train 3 days on, 1 day off.
I focus manily on Chest, Back and legs for those days, I try and incorporate shoulders into back day when I can, often like yesterday I'll do an upper back and shoulder routine.
Usually on the day off I'll do some light stuff for 15min like a couple rounds on the boxing bag.

Currently six on one off. Usually four days a week.

Good luck! I'm glad I'm not you.

I was on a 5 day split and it was working fine until I hit 80kgs. What with my bench, squats and deadlifts going up I just didn't have the time to recover before it was leg day again (I did legs on Tuesdays and Fridays).

I was doing upper/lower body splits with deadlifts and shoulders on the Wednesday. I felt I was eventually punishing myself. I'm not young but from what I deduced on previous pages I am younger than you. No idea how you're gonna do it, assuming you're doing it naturally.

I'm now doing a 4 day split power/muscle/burn program and I can barely walk, but by Tuesday next week I'll have recovered to punish myself all over again.

What a *** gym session I had today.

Not having internet for 11 days meant I could not track my calories, I use an online spreadsheet.

Struggled to hit 75 for 3 reps on bench today where as two weeks ago I was hitting 75x5 for 2 sets.

FML thought I'd be at 80 by now :P :P

I really didn't know wtf I was doing either, after stalling at 75 x 3, I did 60 x 8. For whatever reason.

Almost died felt I was doing ****ing cardio.

I probably detrained a bit.

Skullcrushers are pretty strong though, I did 25 kg excluding the bar, IDK how much a EZ Curl bar weighs.

Don't be demotivated by this. Trust me, this will happen, again, and again, and again in the future. You really can only do linear progress in strength the first 6 months in your career, maybe 12 if you really really stretch it.

Then the time will come where you realize, deload, ect doesn't work anymore, and you need to add in periodization into your program, or just move on to the next program which includes it or stresses your muscles in a different way. See the thing is, after a while, you get used to a program, and this program then loses it's effectiveness. This is why I now believe, you follow a program for 3 months, take a week break, then do the next program.

You can try a deload, and move back up, which is probably what you should do next. Will take 3 weeks or so longer, but you will get there. Once you break through this plateau you will probably progress faster again.

The fun in lifting weights, is not going up the whole time, but learning how to break through plateaus.

Creatine is Creatine. The difference between a good one and a bad one is the efficiency of the transport / delivery system which monohydrate powder doesn't have. Buying Creatine that contains a transport system just takes the hack out of mixing your monohydrate with fruit juice etc.

That is so true Tinuva :) Thanks for the words of wisdom.

I think I'll shake things up, I actually want to try a reverse grip bench press :D (on the smith machine ofc)

Terrible workout, shoulder gave me a bit of trouble tonight. It's not sore, but it's not comfortable either, like bearings without grease. I'll need to warm up my shoulders better next time I bench.

Good news is the half power/squad rack works a charm, very much satisfied!

In a couple of weeks I'll need to make myself another bench, first have other things to do before I can tackle this though.
