Yeah, the lift you want to focus on must go 1st. Accessory/assistance exercises go last, and the amount of weight you do on them is not important, you usually do them at lower weight, as they only suppose to help your main lift get better, not worse.

Also, want your opinions on this

I added Incline Chest Press with DB's to my routine, but now my other lifts suffer as a result.
For example, today I did 22.5kg DB's Incline, but after I could only do 30kg on Skullcrushers cause my Triceps were fried after Flat Bench and Incline Bench.

The same applied to Rope Pulldowns, couldn't even reach my PR, let alone surpass it.
Dorian Yates answered that in episode 1 of Blood and Guts trainer on youtube. It's fine and to be expected that your subsequent lifts will suffer, as xrapidx and Tinuva are saying.

I usually alternative doing flat or incline bench first, I don't usually worry about performance on subsequent lifts (chest days)

Because I've noticed the swimming has an affect, I'm not going to change my program to one week of high rep (with swimming the night before) and one week of low rep (when not swimming the night before)

You'd be surprised the difference it makes, last week I was repping 34kg/36kg dumbbell shoulder presses, multiple sets - this week I couldn't get the 34's up without help, and then failed at 2 reps.

W.r.t. our friend InternetSwag :) His results over the year he has been gyming have been very impressive. Age is a factor yes? IIRC he is early twenties. His results would be hard to match by someone over 10 years his senior? I dunno if it's lack of sleep and stress or what, but feel like it's all downhill from age 37 :(

:D thanks! But it's getting really hard to progress atm.

I recall reading somewhere that men over the age of 25 start losing muscle slowly, which increases with age.

I also read that half the male population over age 35 qualifies for TRT

That's nonsense. I'm in my 30s and keep gaining muscle. It's just harder to stay very lean but that is sorted through a smarter diet. If you aren't progressing is more than likely your diet. Nobody ever wants to hear that but it's usually the truth. 70% of bodybuilding is in the kitchen.

Yip... It's the first thing I think of when I hear this Hard gainer BS.

Yoh, took 3 days off and felt really flat this morning, but it did wonders. I did my bench routine except this time I went for the 8-12 rep range.

My 12 rep 'max' is 70, which surprised me, I did them really slow so I thought I'd struggle.

Did the 3 sets and felt good so I did my power work after that, 90kg x 4 reps and 100kg x 1 rep.

Set a PR on Incline Bench (25 kg DB each hand)

And did cable crossovers which felt really nice on my chest, and did skullcrushers.

I also weighed in at 78.4 kg today.

That's almost 20 kg up from January this year. However my BF % is starting to scare me.

You're actually right, I read up on it again and the muscle and testosterone loss is only in sedentary people.

Dat quadruple post

but holy **** at old mans functional strength

my dad (okay he is 6'1" 107kgs), but he's like 21% bf, had a laminectomy and hasn't worked out in more than a decade, overhead pressed me today.

Our gyser broke and we lent our ladder to someone so he had to OHP me (feet first) into the roof so I could turn off the kraan.

Getting down was a mission though, had to sit on his neck.

I was impressed, but afraid of hurting him.

My old man's strength is just as impressive. When working on cars and lifting engines out of cars ect, the amount of strength he has, every time surprises me. He doesnt work out, he just work on cars, in the garden plus in and around the house.

Must be because of how different growing up as a kid was back in their times vs nowadays where everything is becoming easier and easier.

Exactly! I was raised behind a pc screen :D

Managed a new PR on weighted dips today:

20kg x 12 reps, 15kg x 12 reps, bodyweight x 15 reps
