How do you do the weighted dips? You have a belt? I been trying to get one for pull ups.

Most gyms usually have a belt and a chain you can use. For the seated type dips, you just need to put a plate on your legs.

Managed another 100 pull-up session yesterday.

After warmup.

5 on these

Then switch to 5 on the bar attached to the wall.
the back to Trojan etc

I find the one attached to the trojan hits my upper back more as its a much wider grip.

I also find going past 5 reps at a time causes me to lose focus and not perform a perfect pull-up. i.e get sloppy.

Then a session with my new 40kg sandbag, managed to shoulder it about 6 times then walk the length of 2 large cars, place it on the ground rinse and repeat.

Then just lifted it up by handles to my lower abdomen and walked with it for another 6 lengths, then felt sick.

Ehhh my gym doesn't even have a dedicated dip 'bar' anymore ;_;

I might join VA at N1, a lot of my friends go there :D

N1 VA is amazing, I love the 'old style' equipment. The crap they use in Stellenbosch VA for example doesn't come close, so called modern [email protected]'m here to lift heavy stuff not workout on fancy machines.

I'm not sure how other VAs near N1 compare though...

Tygervalley VA doesn't have a dip bar either anymore.
Durbanville VA still has all the old school stuff you would expect.
Can;t remember if the VA at Wembley (Gardens) have a dip bar, didn't see one there last time I checked.

What is your guys impression of Tabata type training? As it's a HIIT thing would you guys say it can't really be used for hypertrophy?

http://tabatatraining.org/
<snip>
Any exercise can be incorporated into the Tabata training. However the basic outline of the Tabata training method are as follows:
• 4 minutes long (whole Tabata Session)
• 20 seconds of intense training
• 10 seconds of rest
• Total of 8 sessions or rounds

I wonder if they deemed it an injury risk and removed them based on that? Also not sure if KC VA removed theirs or perhaps just moved it to somewhere less visible? I'm still on assisted dips currently :o

What do you guys think, cut in December or keep bulking?

If I cut it'd be a big learning curve, so maybe sooner is better. Also if I do cut I want to reach single digits (9% at least).

I'm sitting with a lot of mass (and fat) right now, but I'm losing lots of definition, I can barely see the lateral head of my tricep xD

my photo editing skils suck

anyways, that was a few months back, I can clearly see I've made some gains :D Which is awesome, cause I felt the last few months like I've been looking the same.

But now that I analyze it, my triceps and chest made some progress.

IMO, start cutting now! Depends what your goals are and what look you are going for though

I learned a new word today.

Deltoids

It's something I don't have, but I now know how I should start getting it.

Still sick, this is bull****.

When your not training, your diet goes to **** too

Dude I did the Gun Run 3 weeks ago. Went training the next day, both were horrible ideas as I had the sniffles. It basically ended up being the worst bout of flu I've had in years. I've subsequently tried training and everyday afterwards I feel horrible.

So I decided just to stay away from the clanging and banging for a week and see how it goes.
