Oh boy, when it rains it pours

fell down a ****ing flight of stairs today

I was walking down and twisted my ankle somehow, end result is me falling down, I didn't roll down like in the movies though, it was more of a fall, slide and stop. Sigh, first time that ever happened.

I'm fine, my ego is bruised, but my back felt it and my ankle is sore.


Dude you are doing way too much benchpressing to get maximum growth and strength gains. You grow when you rest, not in the gym.

I can't help it, I love the exercise too much. I wake up wishing it's chest day, I walk into the gym and go, man i wish i could do some chest.
 
jirrr it only takes one weekend of music festival to fsck your training and diet for a whole week :o

oh well, guess one should not be obsessed to the point where it limits your fun

I can't help it, I love the exercise too much. I wake up wishing it's chest day, I walk into the gym and go, man i wish i could do some chest.
Surely it's about balance, on both counts ;)
You don't want to build an imbalanced physique do you? That will just lead to injury :erm:
 
The 'Olympic' EZ Curl bar weight is not standardised because it is not a competition bar.

Exactly. Besides looking out of proportion, for a strong benchpress you need a strong back to support your chest. The lats, traps and rhomboids take a lot of strain on the eccentric supporting the weight. If you don't work your back properly your chest will suck. Same goes for trying to bench heavy with weak glutes and quads which stabilise your body when you are pushing hard. Not going to work.

Weighed in at 80kg today, I was 70kg in June (I think may have been May)

I have to cut soon, gonna cut in April/March, maybe sooner. Maybe even as soon as 1 January idk. Pity I didn't enter the weight loss thread.

I plan to cut down to 10% bf, if I really want to I might go 8% just to see what it feels like. But the plan is to lose as much fat as possible while retaining as much muscle as I can. I'll switch to caloric deficit, high protein.

Then again, it's one thing to say something, an entirely different thing to actually do it. Heh, we'll see what happens.

Not the best progress in the world, in fact my expectations were a lot higher (and possibly delusional). But the important thing is that I made some progress.

Congrats bud, ahhhh to be young again.
Even on my cutting diet of meat and veg, ok I do stray on weekends but it is difficult.
Too many years of bad dieting, I only have a small pinch of belly fat to get rid of, my upper abs show well so it's look silly now.

I got a phone call from Planet Fitness saying that they are offering Christmas contract renewals at 50% of your current rate.

Not sure if it's a marketing pitfall or what. But I'm gonna chat to them IRL tomorrow about it.
