My father had calves of about 60% of that size, but that was after 30 years of jogging.

My father is 70 but he still has calves that put and my brother (who is a huge guy) to shame.

Doubt it is shopped.

But one thing is for sure. It was not done naturally. Still makes me jealous though.

jealous? u mad bro? that guy's managed to turn his calves into a blend of absurd and ridiculous. look how skimpy and fragile his leg looks towards his ankles. I'd rather take baseball-bat lower leg than that freakish look thanks (and that actualyl looks like synthol assisted to me)

Obviously I don't want them that big and absurd.

But at the moment they are chicken legs... No matter how hard train them.

One thing I always tell people who complain about calves.

Your body only knows the intensity of the application you place upon it.

You walk and use your calves every single day. So training them once or twice a week won't render any results.

Calves and abs have to be trained every single day.

Everyday! Then your calves will only have the option to do one thing and that's to adapt, adapt by growing.

This! Don't believe nonsense about being born with calves - genes make a difference but so does exercise! There are some good exercises for calves including reverse weighted lunges... Walk the length of your yard - a popular rugby/football exercise

For training legs and calves, pm Ockie and grant. Wait for them to arrive at your location.

After a week, you will have legs like tree trunks from all that running.

Training doesn't mean **** if you don't have one thing: genetics. Calves are 99% that, and 1% effort. But yeah, that 1% needs to be done right.

Fck your genetics, fck your busy lifestyle, kill your excuses.

Calves can be made. End of story, genetics is a piss poor excuse I disprove in the gym on a daily basis.

Claremont VA have those colour coded weight plates. Very nice, tonight i was able to quite comfortably deadlift that which is normally uncomfortable for me. Also made warming up with the 10kg plates much easier as they are the same height as the 20kg plates. I suppose the fact that they had little rubber mats for the plates to rest on probably had something to do with it too.

Ok, I learnt something new today:

The natural muscular potential of women
There is truth to this, but the causality runs in the opposite direction. Before I explain this, let’s first look at how the natural muscular potential of women compares to that of men. Percentage wise, how much muscle can a woman build compared to a man? Does it scale with testosterone so that women can build only ~7% as much muscle as men? Is it about half?

It’s 100%. Women gain the same percentage of muscle mass as men during strength training. In fact, women gain as much size and sometimes more strength than men. The only difference is the starting point. Men start off with more muscle mass and more strength, but the relative increase in muscle size is the same between men and women.
