Hi All

I've been monitoring my daily calorie intake, mostly by checking the nutritional info on the foods I buy.
I had a look at a box of All Bran Flakes and I noticed something, it said:
Energy: 458kj AND 109kcal.
This was the first time I see a product with a kcal number, usually it only indicates kilojoules.
I've been under the impression that 1kj = 1kcal - That's how I've been controlling my calorie intake, by assuming that they are the same.

Have I had it wrong this whole time? According to the All Bran example and my calculations, 1kcal is actually 4.2kj, is this right?

Thanks

Muscle people. So, evox muscle meal or whey protein? I am 1.8mtrs and weighty just 64kgs

Yes, 4.2 kilojoules to the calorie / kilo calorie.

So what has your kj or kcal intake been??

Thanks - that's a relief.
That means that I've been on a calorie deficit on just my eating - this excludes my regular exercise.
I've been doing between 1800 & 1400 kcal per day.
My BMR with no exercise is 2000.

I disagree,

Testosterone levels spikes after weight training, and are reduced by cardio after weight training. I would say dedicate days to one or the other.

Mostly true, but there is a reason every pro bodybuilder I've train with and watched training will do cardio afterwards.

I do agree some days you might focus more on cardio like Crossfit for instance I do on weekends for my active rest days.

When the power comes back on, then I will show you some nice articles I read awhile back on this.

I support your claim as long as you don't suggest cardio before weights.

But that's why I'm asking if I should rather go for the muscle meal cos I think that has carbs too? Whereas the whey protein would require that I eat alot still?

It's a 'how long is a piece of string' type question IMO. Silly question but i'd rather not assume; are you currently at a very low body fat %?
Post a pic :D

What are your goals? What is your workout plan like? What is your diet like?

24% body fat. Workout plan whaaat? Diet is lunch and supper.. Don't eat much. Goal is to out on weight, good weight :)

How can you be 1.8m, 64kg and 24% body fat? :wtf: I can hardly believe that, show us a pic? The last thing you need then is a mass builder.

My buddy is 1.8m, 62kg and 7 - 10% in body fat.
