@Zenbaas: Luckily I have access to an old grey beard that knows his stuff. Got taught perfect form from the get go. The old man still pulls close to 300kg at 67!

He's indeed a powerlifter and the sport seems fun, albeit in a weird way. Personally the strongman stuff looks more interesting but a solid foundation is what I'm working on for the present, and powerlifting fits the bill :)

@StrongTurd : I'm not exactly sure, although I can't believe that I'll be more than ~85-95kg. You're nick suggests that you're also one of the big guns at the gym....

Hi guys, as most of you figured it is 'n deadlift, not sure about the other lifts. Although I've seen him do 200kg I'm not sure if that is a max effort.

I see you're from Potch. Is that guy perhaps Oom Theuns you're training with?

I've known Oom Theuns since about '89 when I started competing in powerlifting. It is always an inspiration to see him lift. Until recently he used to lift with the most worn out pair of knee wraps I've ever seen. Those things have probably been with him through thousands of sets of squats! I did notice that he got himself a new set last year at the nationals. :) He's an awesome lifter and a very nice guy.

So you've been around for quite a while then as well :D I only went to nationals in '06 after which I hurt my back pretty bad. Since then I just haven't had the time to commit to it fully again although I train the same way now(Not same weights btw:crying:) that I did when I was lifting :)
