Creatine HCL is the most soluble form of creatine on the market. As a result, creatine HCL may be far more bioavailable and readily absorbed than creatine monohydrate. This means that creatine HCL is essentially a super concentrated form of creatine, and a much smaller dose is needed to achieve the same effect in regards to strength and muscle gain. Furthermore, only needing a tiny amount eliminates the need to drink large quantities of fluid.
I'm confused now. If I'm looking to add lean muscle mass should i change to taking a mass builder with lots of carbs, pre and post workout? I would probably halve the dosage as I only weigh 60kg.I'm on nutritech pure whey vanilla after some help on this forum. Esp with regards to the amount of protein per serving and serving size.
It mixes easy but not so tasty.
I don't know how it compares to ON however.
And its about R500 x 2.5kg bag from http://www.chromeshop.co.za/brands/nutritech.html?limit=all

Apparently all the USN products in black containers are made in the USA or UK. Products in white containers are made in SA. I wonder does that mean the US/UK USN stuff is better than the SA made stuff?
dat feel when people are complementing your body.
Or when people gather around to watch you pull a 280kg deadlift....wait....that makes me a bit nervous![]()
Hate that feeling
I haven't deadlifted since hurting my back in Feb - started again this week, only managed 120kg for 3 - feels bad - 2 plates a side.
That's 100kg![]()
yeh - I know - I only count the ones that touch the ground![]()
I wanna add lean muscle mass without turning into the Pillsbury Doughboy100% pure whey vs mass gainer. It really depends on what your goal is to be honest.
Do you want to stay where you are or cut? Go for 100% pure whey, easiest way is to keep your protein intake high without spiking carbs too much.
Do you want to bulk up? Then go for a mass gainer.
Yip, well currently i eat less on days where i have not been to gym in the last 48 hours. I find my appetite naturally regulates this now. I am only "eating clean" about a third of the time now. Everyday snacking on either rusks, or ice cream or Doritos. Eating a fair bit of carbs, like ProNutro for breakfast and often have oven baked chips with my protein source (beef, ostrich, chicken, fish). Instant noodles and eggs if i feel for it. Frankly just got tired of eating clean, but that is probably due to a lack of creativity and laziness. Body stats staying the same, not getting fat that is. In the best shape of my life (as lean as I have ever been and with more muscle). Do feel I will gain muscle slowly now that i am back at gym and trying to go every 2 to 3 days.Mass gainer is the easiest (note, not to say it is the best) way to up your calorie intake while trying to gain mass or bulk up, and you find it hard to eat enough food to keep the calories high enough force your body to grow muscle.
What you need to keep in mind, if you use a mass gainer without enough exercise, you will get fat.
Yeah, i wanna go the route of eating just a little bit above maintenance. Really don't wanna balloon up!If you do enough exercise you will gain both fat and muscle. The idea is, you have to go big and gain a alot of both, then afterwards you go into a cut cycle. Then you rinse and repeat. Bulk -> Cut -> Bulk -> Cut seems to be the fastest way to build the physique most men want.
OK, so I am a little wary of mass gainers now. If i want to err on the side of caution then I should stick to a good whey protein and source my carbs from real foods?Hope that answers your question. It is mostly from reading what guys say that have gotten the physique, I am not there yet exactly, so I am just relaying from what I have seen the successful guys say, but since I am not there yet take it with a pinch of salt
Edit: I have to add this. Protein is important ingredient that helps repair muscle and build muscle, but building muscle requires energy, and if you don't have enough energy, your body also won't build muscle, so that is why you need to the carbohydrates, to give your body energy to do the building work using the protein. Now you need a surplus energy, and that is why you also will gain fat.
Since I am trying to gain mass, would you say then I should definitely take a pre-workout shake (high protein, low carbs) to prevent muscle catabolism and to give me more energy during the workout?Carbohydrates are only bad if you want to stay at your current body weight or cut, which is when you eat them at a deficit, so that your body is forced to go take energy from fat stores or even muscle sadly. Exercise is still used to keep your body from using the muscle stores first, but rather last, because it keeps the muscle size 90% in check.
See, what you don't know is this: Most of those guys with excellent physiques you see in magazines ect, had to go this route, where the bulk up and look like a "balloon" as you call it, and then go on a massive cut before the photoshoot. Looking 365 dats a year, like they do in the photos in magazines is very impractical and probably unhealthy too.StrontiumDog said:Yeah, i wanna go the route of eating just a little bit above maintenance. Look you don't have to be wary, just make sure you use them correctly. Ie. work out how many calories you need to take in for where you are now to maintain, and then if you need to bulk, use the mass gainer after working out how far above maintenance you need to be. If you find it hard to use food for the amount of carbs you need, then use a mass gainer to make it easier.StrontiumDog said:OK, so I am a little wary of mass gainers now. I personally think, when gaining mass, you are going to eat far enough above maintenance calories intake, so you will have enough energy for the workout. When you go on a cut, you won't have enough energy for the workout, and thus you will need a pre-workout to stay at the same level of a workout that you would have when eating above maintenance levels. What I don't understand is, is why people want to use pre-workouts to boost energy levels when they on a bulk, when they actually should get in more energy from food ect to help. So in my opinion, if you need a pre-workout energy boost while bulking, you are simply put: not eating enough.StrontiumDog said:Since I am trying to gain mass, would you say then I should definitely take a pre-workout shake (high protein, low carbs) to prevent muscle catabolism and to give me more energy during the workout?
