Their pricing was wrong at supplement world for the SSN 100% whey:
Firstly thank you very much for your support at Supplement World!

We added the 900gr SSN 100% Whey Protein and had to make price adjustments. Before the system refreshed the cache it added the difference to the 2kg instead of the 900gr. The price is back to normal:

900gr: R279

2kg: R539

bulking on 3500 calories now

Current stats

weight: 69kg
1.68m short

bench 80kg
BB curl 35kg
Skullcrusher 40kg

Been stagnating.

Okay time for an update - according to VA visit history I've been going regularly for 12 weeks today. Basically I just started lifting random things, arbing about and being awkward turtle for the first 4 weeks, but I'm making excuses.

  • 178 cm
  • 73.0 Kg Bodyweight (up from 62Kg's)
  • 13.8% Bodyfat (up from 12.1%)

I've roughly been following the stronglifts 5x5 programme - as of today the 5 look like this:

  • 75 Kg Squat
  • 55 Kg Bench Press
  • 50 Kg Rows
  • 35 Kg Overhead Press
  • 90 Kg Deadlift

All things considered I'm totally stoked with this progress - from 0 gym visits in March (and the preceding 25 years of my life), to feeling good wearing clothes that fit me and not having to look in the bargain bin for XS. Aside from the aesthetics I'm feeling considerably more positive of my outlook on life generally and feel that I can achieve anything I set my mind to.

Now, I feel the next 12 weeks need a Plan of Action and hence solid and achievable goals. I'll be back to share those, even if it is to just write it down somewhere so I can illude myself that you'll all hold me to it. :)

Nice stats IS, did you reach that bench using Smolov Jr?

I did Smolov Jnr, but I did not follow through with it.

I did it for a week, it's a 3 week program, it started off too slow for me imo. I feel that I'm better off doing 5x5 until I am stronger and in need of more advanced techniques to progress.

Eating junk food a few times a week, eating 4 to 5 times a day. Have to have a snack before i go to bed else I will get hungry while i sleep. Eating a lot of carbs and a decent amount of protein. Basically eating whatever i feel for. Losing fat, so i must be eating under maintenance. Maybe I have worms? I weigh 59kg now, about 14% body fat.

Have not been to gym in 10 days as I caught a cold and work has been too hectic. Doing a couple hundred pushups about twice a week and pullups + chinups twice a week to retain muscle mass.

Nah, not all in one go :p Sets of 30 reps, down to 20 reps as I fatigue. But with quite long breaks as I'll be doing work and every few minutes take a break and knock out a set. I also vary things with some sets being wide grip, and others being closer grip. Need to get back to gym proper though, then i can eat big when its deserved.

maybe I should start the 100 push-up challenge again between gym sessions (between chest, tricep and shoulder days)
I'm gonna slow down the speed I do them at, currently I do 'em at medium speed. Lately I hardly feel it the next day in terms of soreness, despite doing several sets of 30 reps to reach 200. Makes me realise it can't build muscle the way I am doing 'em currently. Purely a maintenance thing, if even that at all.

Supplement companies are going to price themselves out of the market. There will come a time where people rely just on food.

Yeah I don't have an average ok R1k to spend on supplements a month.

Stats? Heigh Weight Years Liften etc? :D

1.93, about 125kg.Been lifting for a while, but only about seriously for the past 3 years.

You mean like back in the old days? The 50's? You only really need 2 supplements nowadays and thats a fast acting whey protein shake and glucose.Everything else is for your own piece of mind...

You have to wonder how they did it back then, I know most took steroids but I'm sure some just got the nutrients from food and making their own concoction of protein shake.
