You mean like back in the old days? The 50's? You only really need 2 supplements nowadays and thats a fast acting whey protein shake and glucose.Everything else is for your own piece of mind...

Any links to back up that claim, cause I have also wondered?

Thats your opinion - creatine, bcaa's, etc.

How many carbs do you guys consume on leg days? My legs are not growing at the rate i would like it to grow. I'm going really hard when doing legs. Currently my max when squatting is 160kg (10 reps) ass to grass. Do about 6 set squats.

100 kg - 10 reps
120 kg - 10 reps
130 kg - 8 reps
130 kg - 8 reps
160 kg - 10 reps
160 kg - 8 reps

I also do additional exercises. My supplement stack consists of ON whey, bsn cellmass (creatine), bcaa's and flaxseed oils.

I have no problem growing my upper body but when it comes to legs i'm struggling. It's a decent size but i want it bigggggger!

I weight in at 83kg, 1.78m

Woah...your legs are pretty damn strong. As far as I understand, you don't have to go ATG on squats, just below parallel, but hey have ATG works for you :P

Do you want your upper legs or your lower legs to grow more? I find calves super difficult, but when I went heavy on squats (not as heavy as you though!) my legs easily grew, so much so that most pants didn't fit anymore.

You have to wonder how they did it back then, I know most took steroids but I'm sure some just got the nutrients from food and making their own concoction of protein shake.

They worked out insanely hard , and ate copious amounts of whole food.Back then it was a relatively new thing. They did juice aswell but they didnt have whey protein shakes or creatine etc.

Sorry no links, its in my head from when i did my qualification lol
If you cant eat right then you need protein shakes etc, but those guys back in the day just used to make their own out of eggs/milk and some maize for carbs.

Yup, its works for me and i have tried every supplement out there over ten years.
Do you enjoy the feeling when you come off creatine and you cant lift the same amount anymore? To me thats not progress and actually leaves you feeling like you didnt do anything within that time.
BCAA's - Your body can only absorb so much, tell me , what colour is your pee an hour or 2 after you've taken your BCAA's?

I'm also not convinced all these supplements are all that wonderful. I haven't taken anything in years. Just finished a jar of NeuroCore Preworkout, not sure if it even worken :erm:

Yip, also feel like I wasted cash on stuff, I think creatine and whey are fine though, I have seen results from using both.
But the rest, meh

I'm actually just eating what I feel like (or can afford at the moment, when it comes to lunch and snacks), but I've been gaining massively in the strength department, but, alas, also weight and some fat :o

I have already started my cutting diet for summer, lunch was chicken, peas and sweet potato whilst watching Diners, Driveins and Dives who where making some awesome looking food.
Jeez I so need some pizza or something, been eating clean for 2 weeks now, still feel fine except when it comes to workouts, there I have last strength of note, yesterday was back , I could only manage 5 wide grip (past shoulder width) pullups at a time, completed my usual 50 (5x10 sets) this is for ChickenBOO but was stuffed after that, did start with deadlifts but light only 110kg

The problem with eating clean is that I almost immediately lose a considerable amount of strength :(

I have that same problem - I either weigh 125kg and move tons... or 100kg and struggle my arse off to bench 120kg.(which I haven't even tried in months)

But how?
How do you people gym in the winter, never mind eating right :-(

I have to start ASAP, I can feel I have put on weight, and probably lost a lot of muscle….., as soon as the callus on my hands have completely disappeared, I know its been to long…..

As for the “does supplements work”, of course it does, Creatine, BCCA’s, Glutamine and L-Carnatine work, a lot of preworkouts also work, Evox’s 3DT gives you ounces of energy, for a short burst, afterwards you crash and cant sleep for hours……

If cash is a issue, stick to creatine and a good diet (unfortunately whey is the best and most expensive supplement)

Does cutting only involve eating clean or does it include dieting(aka starving)?

It involves a calorie deficit, the amount is dependent on the rate you want to loose.

I'm currently doing a keto diet, eating 2300, where I normally eat around 3300 calories.

I have been on creatine for 3 years (cycling), from personal experience I call bull**** on not needing creatine. Firstly let's talk expenses. MuscleTech 1month Supply of creatine costs ~R160 (read: inexpensive). If you do cycle creatine then you should consider the following: It is unfair to judge your lifts when you are on and off creatine as the same thing. You should consider your progress off creatine in isolation, and you should consider your progress on creatine in isolation. And if you do this, I am pretty sure that your lifts do improve (even for the veterans it would be slow but yet improving)

The thing is with most creatine and creatine based pre-workouts is that they give you the drive to do higher volume workouts (ie you can do more reps or more sets and still have energy). We all know that feeling of being off creatine, you lift less, you do less, you have less focus and drive but that is par for the course. What creatine allows you do to is basically tear more muscle fibers per workout. The more you tear, the more you repair, the more gainz.

I tried working it out last night, that's a lot of protein you need to consume.
How many shakes do you drink per day?
