Yeh, belts should really only be used with REALLY heavy weight... even with my back injuries I don't use one.

One thing I need to do is stretch my hips/hamstrings, I think thats my problem with squats at the moment, somehow they've become so tight. BUT - I know this, but find time for stretching so difficult.

Sjoe, seems one really has to not #$#% around when doing back squats when under heavy load!

Went up to 82.5 kg on the weights with my back squat, but I am going to concentrate now heavily on my form.

I am also going to see how far I can go without using belts, straps etc on my compound exercises. Saw a few pictures of powerlifting guys that does all exercises without belts (only using at comps) and their physiques looks amazing!

Agree on that.

Form I've learned (the hard way) really is key in proper training and advancement. Took an ego knock for about a month to weight down and be strict, but now my strength is even better than before when cheating. Ego-lifting is for chumps.

As for form on squats...hip-hinge is key. Pull the bar down onto your back - this activates your back and lats for a stable platform. Chin nice and tucked, chest OPEN and up with shoulders nicely pinned back and down. Push out abs and tighten that core to hell.

On the breathing thing people have different opinions...some say breath in on the way down and out on the way up. Others follow the valsalva principles and take a breath and hold - this increases internal abdominal pressure to help keep your spine in place and protect the lumbar region.

If you have problems with tight muscles, from what all the biokineticist is that, the correct way is to warm up before exercise, and then after exercise to stretch and do cooldown exercises to help that your muscles doesn't become so tight. In fact, stretching is something you should do every day to improve your problem.

That said, take it as hear-say, it may be wrong.

I already do a 10min cycle warm-up.

Correct - on leg and back day I usually do stretching afterwards for around six minutes.

I keep promising myself to do ITB stretches, etc after work - but I never get round to it, it really helped in the past. (maybe next week :p)

Getting diarrhea a few hours after taking Supplements SA Super Whey on a daily basis. I am not lactose intolerant and the reviews of this product on Supplement World are great (there are dozens of them.) Have tried taking shakes in smaller portions with the same result.

Why is this happening? :(

Check all the content and see if there is an additive that might not agree with you.

Goes without saying that you should switch brands.

Looks like it could be a result of the sucralose? Apparently in excess amounts can cause gastrointestinal side effects.

Eminems bodyguards were at the gym yesterday.. holy ****
they are on another level of big

If I have a sucralose sensitivity does that mean I have will have to get raw whey without any artificial sweeteners?

I used sucralose and aspartamame while cutting (still cutting)

Moved onto liquid stevia. 0Cal since there is no need for dextrose to bind the sweetener.

I see makro has a promotion for TROJAN 40kg Barbell Training Set. R999.00. Is that a good price?

It's about the usual price, I used to always look on gumtree/olx for second hand stuff.

Another good leg session done yesterday.

Last week 150kg...this week 160kg for two deep reps. So damn close to my goal of squatting x2 my bodyweight! Just 20kg to go...

That has never happened to me...not on any body part. How much and soon before gym do you eat haha.

Only had coffee :p

I usually get that feeling doing supersets on anything big, was only doing stiff leg dead-lifts + hyper-extensions when it happened, on my last set (the 45s rest was killing me) - ran to the bathroom :p

Last time it happened was about two years ago - deadlifts + front squats - also during weight-loss.
