I'm going to show this to my father ... he is also 70. :D

I sweat a lot during a workout. I'm wearing a sweatband around my head but with my glasses I look like a 1970s dork.

What do your wear to keep the sweat out of your eyes? A cap?

Lol... Wipe it off.... Need a towel per day.

I need something to wear continuously because I do cardio before I do weights ... and you think you sweat like a mother trucker ... you're wrong, I sweat like a mother trucker.

I wear a cap, wiping sweat off with a towel is annoying and irritating.

Unfortunately, the cap does get wet/sweaty a lot, so you'll have to wash the cap often.

Washing is not a problem.

But my first thought is that a cap insulates your head and exacerbates the problem of sweating.

I'll see if I can find a cap that allows for some ventilation ... because a sweatband is the optimal solution but why are we all in a gym in the first place?

Answer: To improve our physique.

You don't do it by looking like a dork.

If a cap bothers you, try a golf visor. That worked for me for awhile, but now I have gotten used to a cap.

Personally, I think a sweatband makes you look like a dork, but that's my opinion.

:D

Do you guys bother with casein and if so, do you go for the 100% casein powders (instead of blends such as Evox Synergy)? Nutritech and Evox seem to be the cheapest options. Both are R399 for 1kg for 100% casein.

I used nutritech casein, the chocolate mousse one.
Loved it as a clean desert.
Cannot say if it did anything though

Why do you wear your glasses when working out?
I cannot see much without my glasses, so I always tell the okes that if I do not greet them it's because I do not see them.
Yet I would think it a nuisance wearing glasses whilst exercising.

Got myself a 10kg medicine ball :) Carried it around the shop for like 20 minutes then put it in the car. Went to get some beers and I almost flung 2 cases :D

I use a 40kg sandbag for clean and press, squats and to fling around after a shoulder or back session, give's you that hard labour look I'm after.
The one I use has handles all over for various grips.

Best damn exercise tool that!

Got a bit overkeen today, but have learnt that resting between sets can make a huge difference!
Got stuck on my 4th rep, could barely eek out 3 reps. Took a 3 min rest instead of 1.5 min and powered through the last set like it was the second  Longer rests on the bench press from now on! :D

Longer rest periods give your nervous system a rest as well as the muscles. More often it's the extra nervous system rest that makes the big difference.

You learn something new everyday... interesting

A good analogy that I heard regarding this;

Think of your muscles as a light bulb, your fibers inside the muscle as the filament and your nervous system impulses as the current.

You can have a big ass bulb with 1000w rated filament, but if you only push 1A it's not gonna get you anywhere. The inverse is true as well. You send 1000A through the bulb, but with a crappy filament all that is gonna happen is it's gonna fizzle out.

You need these things to work together. Higher rep training under moderate / high weight for hypertrophy (bodybuilding) for bigger muscles. Heavier lower rep work to improve strength and nervous system impulse replays.

All the components need to work neatly together for optimum results.

CT Fletcher overtraining chest.

I found the video interesting and its almost identical to my favourite chest routine, I also find my body responds better to pyramid and drop sets as well, even tri-sets.

I did a workout almost identical to the one in the video on Saturday, except i did decline but also ended with as many pushups as possible.
