This is nonsense. Nutritech were accused falsely and independent testing proved that their whey is very good quality. In order to be eligible to be sold in chains like Dischem and PnP pharmacies etc they had to pass testing for iso 22000 and they have been confirmed as WADA safe supplements. USN are just scared of the competition.
I can't find much about it, only sources I can find say they admitted some sort of guilt.

Got anything I can read online?

The discrepancy was ridiculous. The lab tests were done by Swift Micro Labs in Cape Town and the protein content was 72g/100. Fat content was as claimed and carbs were 2-3 grams out. It's not posted online as far as I know.

Still best tasting bang for buck quality whey product around.

I find it weird that Nutritech would (allegedly, according to the article) admit guilt, but not post anything contrary to the tests online.

And don't get me wrong, I've got no preference either way, just wanted some evidence of them not fiddling the numbers.

Am I the only one?

Don't know why, but usually when I feel a bit tired/down (especially Mondays) and I think about skipping a session... But then still force myself to do it... THAT is when I have killer sessions and push myself to new limits.

Had such a good session tonight and the pump afterwards was insane. I'll be happy if I can achieve that look/result permanently by the end of this year.

Was happy to go to gym today, but in the kerfuffle of leaving the house I left my iPod and my protein at home.

Wasn't the greatest workout, back up to 85kg on squats but losing form.. At 80kg my form was good so if it doesn't come right I'll have to deload. OHP and Deadlifts were A-OK though.

Based on whats been said about Nutritech now I have no faith in their products. Its understandable that USN wants to take out the competition they made a similar claim against Evox. There are a few more smaller local companies supplying supplements but lets not even go there. We need to have independent testing on all local supplement companies so that we can support them and their lower pricepoints. So for now its the reputable large brand supplement companies that we can trust like Optimum Nutrition, Muscletech etc... That burns a big hole on the pocket.

Is my local pharmacist smoking his products or is this advice real?

He obviously saw that I am working out or me browsing around the supplement section was a dead giveaway. But he asked if I am taking anything pre-workout... I said just BCAA pre and then whey shake with creatine post. Nothing else at the moment.

He then told me that I should take a serving of CitroSoda before hitting the gym because when you work out your muscles form an acidic layer to protect themselves. This slows down muscle growth and the CitroSoda will break that layer down and help with even more muscle growth.

My initial reaction is calling BS because I've never heard or read about this at all. But I've known this pharmacist for years and he always seems to know his stuff and is a nice guy. No reason for him to BS me.

You do squats and deadlifts on one day?

I'm on SL5x5. Two sets of exercises that alternate, three days a week:
A - Squats, Bench, Barbell Row
B - Squats, Overhead Press, Deadlifts.

The deadlifts are 1x5 though.

I reached that final state in 2.5 months and have kept it there till now.

Whats your routine, taking suppliments? I've been training (with 5x5) over the last several months now and honestly barely much of a difference, probably because I get to a point where things gets sore/hard and I end up taking a few weeks break - then I feel like I'm back to square 1 when I start up again.

I work on a 4 day split, 2 days on and 1 day off. Only supplement is whey protein and multi vitamin.

The biggest contributing factor was my diet. I was pretty strict. 55/30/15 split in protein, carbs and healthy fats and never cheating. Aimed at 2100 cals a day. You can clearly see I had a lot of fat to shed. Still do IMHO. Also running 6km on training days - 3km to and from gym served as great warm up and warm downs.

After posting pics here I'll get back to a strict diet and really gun for that 10-12 percent body fat range. Good motivation.

I've done that...but then you do squats first, important to not kill yourself. Squats are at like 2 thirds of normal weight max, and rather serves as a warm-up to the deadlifts which is where the real workout will be.
