I've started my cutting diet today... decided to rather do 3 extra weeks of dieting rather than trying to bulk another 1 or 2 Kg... Now I am hungry :( Will take some pics tonight and upload them during the week.

I have a Q.

I used to have very nice neck muscles and that collar bone section and top part of my pecs, but now its all gone. What exercises can I do to get them back, I dont know how I did it the first time...

even deadlifts, barbell rows... I do one exercise that kinda looks like side raises for shoulders but on a seat and then you contract the traps as you get to the top... works best for me!

Im not so clued up on the terminology.
Can you be more specific?

Hi Guys

I recently started working out and was just wondering. How long should you stick to a workout program before changing it?

Look at seated dumbbell shrugs...

and then

Combine the two, I lift my arms laterally and at the same time pull my shoulders back to crunch the traps like in the shrugs... works my neck like a bitch, but start low, I can do 40Kg shrugs but when I do this exercise I can only manage about 10Kg...

I usually swap every 8 weeks although you can go up to 12 weeks.

What do you guys think of the following workout plan?

http://www.usn.co.za/Content.asp?Page=3-Day-Training

I'm thinking of doing it Mon, Wed , Friday.

Then jog on the alternate days.

Edit: i also bought some of this yesterday

http://www.usn.co.za/USNProducts/Product.asp?Page=Muscle-Support-Fast-Grow-Anabolic

What do you think?

The routine is good, but depending on what you want to accomplish I would change the number of reps and sets, to build muscle you would typically increase sets to 4 and decrease reps to between 6 and 8 per set. Also I don't see any dead lifts in there which is kinda important on back training days...

As for the mass gainer, it's ok... I personally wouldn't use USN, next time have a look at this: http://www.ssnonline.co.za/products/anabolic_muscle_builder/index.html

Hi There

I have been using USN Pure Protein IGF-1 for a while now (along with a change in eating plan) and have noticed some serious improvements in my overall physique.

I understand the dislike for USN (considering its a commercial company not dedicated to ensuring health as opposed to wealth). But what is the reason for the dislike of USN?

In addition, is there anything of a similar nature to USN Pure Protein IGF-1 but in another brand? Something that offers the same benefits?

It's like asking someone why they dislike the taste of Turds as opposed to Strawberries. The crap they have in their USN products vs other products alone should explain it to you better.

How do you know this, have you got some evidence to prove that the stuff inside is garbage? (just a query, no need to bash )
I am not promoting USN, trust me on that one. I just want to know if there is something better or similar in an alternate brand. I will definitely use the alternate, but as such, have not yet found one.

OK, another update...

Sorry for not posting pics, but I do not have time at the moment, I've been working double shifts for the last two weeks and now I'm into the last one (hopefully). Also in the last two weeks I've been on a strict low carb diet. My bulking diet was 300g protein and 500 to 700g carbs per day. The current diet is no more than 100g carbs for the day and still 300g protein. In the first week I dropped 5Kg! I suspected about 3 of that was water (due to the 100g of cucumber per meal) and the second week I saw another 2 Kg drop. I went from 102Kg to 94.5Kg, my love handles and stomach fat is almost gone and I can start seeing defined rib and back muscles now. I would say I dropped from about 15% bf to 11-12% but will have to take measurements to be sure.

Oh, and I feel like dying the whole time... tired as hell!

Ok, I see the need now for Whey Protein as part of the new diet. What is a good brand to get and where can one find it? Obviously as stated before Dischem punts it own brand and USN is a whole heap of ****, thus what is the best?
