Any of you guys train in the Centurion area. I am just starting out with weight training and was looking for a gym partner?

I put on 6kg of amstel........... :(

Lol same here. Hence the reason i am looking for a gym partner.... Got on the scale on monday after a month off from the gym. It was not pretty.

My goal is to get to two digets (99) on the scale. I am currently sitting at 109.
How long do you guys rate i will take to do this. Note: I have totally changed my diet so i am determined to do this. My current gym cycle is a on / off cycle of weights and cardio (mon, wed, fri = weights; tues, thurs = cardio)

I'm also 109 :)

Two digits safely in three months - in time for winter.

Train alone :D
You can listen to music, do things at your own pace, train when you want, do the exercises that you feel work best, you can focus completely

much much better

Training alone doesn't allow you to push yourself to your limits, i.e. not optimal.

i have been training alone for a few months.
I had a personal trainer a few years ago and the thing with training with someone else is they force you to try that little bit harder and get that last rep out where you would never be able to.

I train alone, and i think i prefer it.
But training alone means no spotter, which rules out certain exercises, and as mentioned little less motivation to do that last rep.

You dont need a spotter for anything but chest day anyway, and those are easy to get hold of, i've been training chest alone on and off for ages now and have never had a problem finding a spot

Motivate yourself :) chances are your partner is lifting that last rep for you anyway

So i still havent been able to find dextrose at a normal store, so will probably go with muscleworks.

Anybody use their products before?

Is their service good too? i.e. no issues with shipping and lack of stock etc?

Dextrose is dextrose I guess regarding the quality, not sure of their service, but I went onto their site last night to order and saw they have a shop in Norwood, so im rather going to take a drive there on Saturday and buy some,

Im assuming they're situated where optimum nutrition used to be or in the same shop, corner grant and iris

Dude if you are looking to lose weight why do you need a gym buddy?

Cardio mixed with light weights and a good healthy diet is what you need. Eat fruit dude :D. Lots of fruit.

Not too much fruit Killa... Zen master says "All things in moderation" :D

If you go to a Virgin Active or Planet, there are always the trainers / helpers (even the cleaners) hanging around to help spot. I have asked all three. They always seem willing to help.
I am also sure there will be another guy alone at the gym at the same time you go and just ask him if he wants a gym buddy. Just make sure it doesn't seem like you are following him around or eyeing him out.

I have couple of friends that I gym with and it does help, even if they don't spot you, there is the motivation side and that always helps.

Motivation can also come from Rocky music though...

Norwood sounds like a plan. Will take a drive on saturday too. Thanks dude.

guys maybe you can help... not sure if the link was posted here but 36 pages to sort through is a mission. there is web site that lists loads of different exercises and gives a nice break down of the muscles that are affected. They also have small gif with each one showing the exercise. You have any idea what that site is?

O.k ignore this... i found it.. the site is http://www.exrx.net/Lists/Directory.html

A little note and recommendation, if you have R700 lying around and are in the market for a decent whey, I bought that ON Gold Standard 100% Whey and it is well worth the extra Rand or so. (I was punting it earlier in this thread but I can see now why it has won Bodybuilding.com's best overall supplement for 5 years in row - it may be paid for but there has to be at least some validity to the award)

I got the 2.3 kg strawberry (Dischem) and I can say that it is by far the best whey I have used. If you have had a heavy work out and need that extra little something from a whey (post workout), get it. Those Americans do know how to make a decent product.

Give it a try and you will notice the difference (and not just in your bank account :D)

I am happy with biogen whey i am using though.

Will try the american stuff when i got spare cash hahaha.

Also i bought animal cuts and OMG this shyte is the business, no caffeine or ephadrine and they kick. 700 bucks for 21 days but so worth it. That Eca stack is not nearly as good.
