On a daily basis. I pretty much squat every session (even if it's very light, I find it stretches my back the best so that I can avoid re-injuring it) and I find guys doing bicep curls in the SQUAT rack more often than actual squats.
Had an argument with one of the personal trainers in the gym today as he was showing a young guy how to squat but using small 5kg weight for him to put his heel on. I mean FFS, who the hell would teach someone that on purpose...?

You know, most weightlifting boots are made like that so you don't have to use plates under your heels. Also, adding the plates can switch emphasis onto a different muscle.
