Quads have gotten a lot bigger! Did you finish your sets like a man, tore suit and all? :P

Set? I start with squats - I finished my whole program for the day :p Although my fiancée wasn't too impressed when she later saw me.

Hey guys, long time lurker first time poster here

I'm looking to add more protein to my diet so I've been looking around for a supplement. The thing is I'm a poor student so I can't spend a _lot_ of money on this

I'm thinking of going for this: Muscle Works Superior Whey. It seems alright, it supposedly has 71 serving so it should last two month and it's low in carbs and fat (already have that part of my diet sorted). Any comments?

Thanks

I bought this from supplement world a few times before, pure whey tends to taste like *****, but this was one of the better tasting shakes I've used (the chocolate flavor that is) I would also have a look at this one http://www.supplementworld.co.za/ultimate-health-pure-whey.html better bang for your buck, and no added junk like sweetners etc.

Get it.. It has 20g protein per scoop, and has 71 Scoops. Also the chocolate tastes great!!

I don't see how the "serving" count is relevant - as it would be specific to your daily requirements.

Shakes are essential if you want big strength. I eat about 700g of lean meat every day and still have 150g of whey iso as well on workout days or 100g on off days. I couldn't do without it. I'm not the hugest oke but I train mostly for strength and can lift some pretty heavy ass weight for my size thanks to my high protein intake.

What numbers are you doing for your size? I have seen some guys do some pretty impressive numbers without needing shakes. High protein intake yes.

I agree - supplements have their place - I can't imagine how I'd feel eating so much food - I'm aiming for 5000 calories in October, there's no way I'm going to do that without whey and a MRP.. Going to get around 70-75% from food.

Military press with 2x45Kg dumbells for 8 reps at 83KG bodyweight-no spot. 2 weeks ago did 2x55Kg dumbells incline benchpress for 6, not counting first spotted rep. Don't like pressing barbells-past injuries. Squat is not my strong point. I do 150Kg for 8 reps but I can't do many sets and only squat every 2 weeks because of joint pain. That's my current stats, I've been stronger when I was on big carb bulks. I don't have genetics to get both huge and ripped so I focus on strength training. Love it!

You're a big guy though hey? 5000 calories of clean food must kill the wallet! I'm on just over 3000 on lifting days and drop to 2500 or sometimes less with lower carbs on off days. That already costs me a crapload on chicken, steak and shakes. It's a healthy hobby and at least I'm not spending it on booze so its worth it.
