One thing I like about Tom Walker (staunch Remain/Labour supporter) is that his Jonathan Pie skits don't hold back against either side. At around 1:00 he starts on the idiots who only suddenly became loyal EU supporters and started waving EU flags with pride after the referendum.

Well the Nats definitely aren't getting a referendum while the Tories are in power (so at least until 2024 but likely 2029) and the SNP have been in power for so long in Scotland they are likely to not put in such stellar performances in the future as more people pay attention to their governing record.

Took all of 5 seconds to solidify their (and your) hypocrisy, eh Chris? :p

Yeah it’s great not being in Europe and being in control of your own country.

Oh, wait.

Britain leaves the EU to take back control and then denies Scotland the very thing it claims to champion. The freedom to make its own decisions.

The audacity of it. Sheer hypocrisy.

Can't be surprised, surely?

I support Brexit. Trump is not my ideal candidate to run the USA but a better choice than Hilary Clinton.

Trump is inevitable in some senses, a sign of the times, a sign that the world is not as liberal as the world would like us to believe.

Sincere question - why do you think so? I've yet to see a remotely convincing argument for this position.

Not this horsesh*t again. How many times does it have to be repeated that there was no shift to the right? The fact that more votes went to Clinton in fact tells me that she had more support.

Oops, the MSM won't really like this. Goes against their constant doom mongering and talking down of Britain.

Nissan to 'pull out of Europe and concentrate on UK' in event of hard Brexit
It would be a gamble for them I guess, hoping to increase their market share in the UK by being cheaper than the competitors. Of course, don't get too excited Chris, remember:
Nissan’s public position is that the UK plant would be threatened along with its European business if the UK fails to maintain tariff-free access to the EU.

“We deny such a contingency plan exists,” said a spokesman for Nissan Europe. “We’ve modelled every possible ramification of Brexit and the fact remains that our entire business both in the UK and in Europe is not sustainable in the event of WTO tariffs …We continue to urge UK and EU negotiators to work collaboratively towards an orderly balanced Brexit that will continue to encourage mutually beneficial trade.”
Edit: no idea why the ft link turned into a subscribe to read, it isn't when you Google it

Wasn't this the Remoaners was so focused on making an example as Jobs being shed? I recall Nissan being used...

Yes, Nissan is one of the Remoaner's favourite firms to use when discussing the predicted bad economic effects of Brexit. It's specifically used because Nissan's plant is based in Sunderland, which voted to leave the EU.

ALL OF THEM, except the ones that can legally stay which is also all of them pretty much
But only if they applied before 31 December!

Also, the Sunderland plant makes the Juke, Qashqai and Leaf for many of the world markets. The cutting of jobs had little, if anything, to do with Brexit, and more to do with a global reduction in new car sales (affecting jobs in other countries, too, as already mentioned).

Trump and Brexit have exposed the illiberals. This thread is full of them. If you believe in limiting speech, state enforced welfare or open borders, you are an illiberal. True liberals believe in the sanctity and responsibility of the individual.
