:erm: erm no, actually lying and making false promises qualifies as being based on "lies, false promises and pretensions".
So what about the lies and misinformation about the costs of Brexit and the impending economic implosion? Do those count, too?

What about "yes, we can!", "hope and change!", "African renaissance!", "fighting corruption!"
We'd never stop voting if we need a mulligan every time an election is based on lies.

The 'impending economic implosion' was not a promise or a lie, it was a prediction which by it's nature is not factual. But I'll admit there were lies on both sides - even more reason for a second referendum, now those lies have been uncovered

So how do you decide who to vote for if you can't believe anything anyone says?

But then a lot of them are as thick as two short planks or will claim it’s just “project fear” or something similar.

I’ve noticed that a lot of Rees Mogg supporters are actually EDL/BNP/radical UKIP supporters anyway...

I can imagine a few of them liking to get dressed up like this ;)

I wonder what @Chris_the_Brit (who should probably be called Chris_the_Aussie) makes of dressing up in that uniform?

University of the West of England.

If I saw that on a CV, I’d immediately think of these internet fake degrees that so many ANC dignitaries love to get.

Is there also a university of the South West of Northern Ireland?

If this is true then democracy has never existed.

true democracy would mean no democracy. After all only the party of honesty and virtue would have legitimacy. No need for elections. Sounds awfully familiar. Like it's been tried before somewhere....

Keep moving the goalposts to cover for your authoritarianism.

Because both sides will be super honest this time, right?

Well it's a bit difficult to claim £350m would go to the NHS, for example, when that's been clearly demonstrated to be false.
And after all the lies, I think people would be more vigilant about any very specific claims made - not to mention that we have a clearer picture of what's actually involved in the UK leaving the EU now, since the process is in full swing.

Whereas I think that this time will be like every other time in political history where the talking points on the issues have been chosen along partisan lines.

Nevermind the fact that having another referendum implies that the state gets to go back on its word when it deems it convenient. That's a much worse precedent to accept if you care at all about democracy.

Most of what he is doing is illegal, so very democratic right? He's provided direct financial support to incite violence via Antifa and Ukraine, you can't seriously be gullible enough to think above board lobbying is all he does?!? :wtf:

Source? You probably can't see the irony in spouting your conspiracy BS while simultaneously calling other people gullible

Ah there you have it and it only took you a few hours to show me how you change what constitutes as evidence for you depending on the agenda.

Funniest of all is how you are stuck on believing people can only reach conclusions by buying into someone's agenda ...

Some of us actually enjoy our sentience and haven't outsourced it yet.
