He doesnt want the benefits to dilute.... he's smart.

She is an immigrant herself - that's why it is ironic.

However, she is somewhat contradicted by her boss, who wants to introduce a special program for highly skilled migration.

Her parents at least were immigrants, but yeah I think she was. In any case, without immigration, she wouldn't be here.

I thought she was born in London
Her parents were foreigners who probably wouldn't be allowed into the UK today, and would certainly be viewed as undesirables by Priti Patel. I'm not sure they would be considered skilled and they appear to have been refugees.

oh so just because other people assume zir's gender you reckon it is ok?
have you asked Priti what zir's preferred pronoun is bigot?

That’s her own website... :rolleyes::rolleyes:

sometimes trying to be funny/clever can just fall flat.

Do you think zir personally authors the information on zir's website?

ok I'm done, was clearly just having fun with the insane gender BS of our time, nothing to do with this thread or Patel at all

if I gave a single minuscule 'F' about gender pronouns I'd make a serious case for being outraged at your biologically correct terminology ... but I don't

Excellent (but misleading) news, you mean?

UK cannot end freedom of movement on Brexit day, experts say

Big difference in what is legally allowed vs what is practically possible. They can VERY easily ban freedom of movement to anyone attempting to enter the UK, practically possible and legally allowed.

That's not to say they will be kicking out people who have already entered on day 1 of brexit.

In fact the title of the article you call misleading is: "No-deal Brexit: Tough border controls for EU citizens will start overnight from Oct 31, warns Priti Patel"

Perfectly possible, tough border controls only apply to people when they cross the border after all.

I love it. About time the EU realize it's going to affect them too. Why give grace if they are trying to hardball you!

So now you want a deal? Make up your mind.

What you on about?

Never wanted the May deal... between the May deal and NO DEAL the choice is obvious. I get it that you guys feel butt hurt by the fact that it looks like Boris might just pull this off. But that is your problem, not mine :D

Pull what off?

They're well aware and always have been. It is exactly why they're not willing to just roll over and give the UK whatever it demands.

A question I'm sure the EU keeps asking themselves.

 right, at every single juncture for over two years now the EU has been hard-balling the UK, I'm sure the EU has been feeling "oh so victimized" ... like a rapist complaining about the scratches they got from their target

The EU has always been open to an alternative to the backstop. The point is that the UK leadership must provide clear practical proposals, and they must actually implement them. Not the current toddler level response of we don't wanna backstop and we're going to hold our breath until you do what we want.

This is hilarious. I can't wait for the EU to feel No-Deal :D
