Her parents were foreigners who probably wouldn't be allowed into the UK today, and would certainly be viewed as undesirables by Priti Patel. I'm not sure they would be considered skilled and they appear to have been refugees.I thought she was born in London![]()

UK cannot end freedom of movement on Brexit day, experts say
Big difference in what is legally allowed vs what is practically possible. They can VERY easily ban freedom of movement to anyone attempting to enter the UK, practically possible and legally allowed.Excellent (but misleading) news, you mean?

Migration: UK cannot end freedom of movement on Brexit day, experts say
The UK has no system to work out who is legally in the country after a no-deal Brexit, experts say.www.bbc.co.uk

That's not to say they will be kicking out people who have already entered on day 1 of brexit.
In fact the title of the article you call misleading is: "No-deal Brexit: Tough border controls for EU citizens will start overnight from Oct 31, warns Priti Patel"
Perfectly possible, tough border controls only apply to people when they cross the border after all.
So now you want a deal? Make up your mind.I love it. About time the EU realize it's going to affect them too. Why give grace if they are trying to hardball you!

A question I'm sure the EU keeps asking themselves. Why give grace if they are trying to hardball you!

The EU has always been open to an alternative to the backstop. The point is that the UK leadership must provide clear practical proposals, and they must actually implement them. Not the current toddler level response of we don't wanna backstop and we're going to hold our breath until you do what we want.
