The coconuts on mnet - brilliant

I have to say I've seen some stunning local productions on M-net when they were having the short locl film promo. Cant remember the name, but there was one about a guy in an advertising house who was just a clerk. But after a hit of cocain, he became super creative and top of the advertising world.....it was very good, very well scripted and filmed...guess you had to be there!:)

The coconuts...hmmm, I did expect more, it was funny, but I feel somthing is missing.....unfortunately it didnt grab me immediately and thats where I "get off the bus"

I really enjoy this show.. I haven't seen tonights yet but it is recorded...

There are better international shows but there are worse as well. I am enjoying the whole idea of it for now.

Some parts are stupid though, the whole Amandla thing bugs me.

I watched the first episode cause I wanted to give local a chance. Unfortunately it was one of the most painful 15 minutes I have ever put myself through - absolutely aweful. I had to switch off halfway! Was really dissapointing cause I really wanted it to be worth watching.

Oh come on people.
I also don't watch South African shows, and I didn't watch some other new SA thing that was on today, and this was the first episode of the Coconuts I have watched, and it was brilliant, it really was, and I was surprised, but the actors, the script, it was the most I have laughed in ages.

I will have to watch next week to see if the standard remains, but tonights show was really funny and so what if the critics don't like the show in general, and if Toxicbunny eats pookies for breakfast, it was funny and well made.

Who here actually watched tonights show? Come on, it was soooooo well made, give them credit:)
Interesting. I suppose you also find those local Leon Schuster movies hilarious too? I know they have a handful of supporters.

Well I don't have Mnet so if someone can Youtube it that'll be great. The only local production (read: remake) I've ever really followed solidly was that gameshow Temptation, I loved that. Presenters were good, contestants were good, I'll go as far as saying I was hooked on that..

ooo...I love south african productions! Just remembering shows like Orkney SnorkNie, Louis Motors (spelling...eish:confused:) with Percy and Clyde! Telly Fun Quiz...YOU'VE WON THE JOKER PRIZE..or oh nooo...it's a booby trap! (kinda sexist if you think about it :D) The best line out of Suburban Bliss was the Grandma saying: "Haikona! I'm not racist! I love blacks...I only hate whites!" Classic! Then there is Pumpkin Patch...ohhh Pumpkin Patch...and my all time favourite: Noot vir Noot. I was quite tempted to buy Riaan van Rensburgs cd (he's the freeky dude who goes nuts on his bongos on Noot vir Noot) The fact that I actually know his name is pretty sad...I know this already!:p But ja, I really do enjoy that show. I'd kick @ss and make a whole bunch of money, if it weren't for the Afrikaans songs that I can never identify. Ah well...

Nope, they are rubbish, though Mr Bones was well made, I did enjoy that, and yes it did have its corny bits, but it is probably his best movie.
Come on dude, did you watch yesterdays episode of the coconuts?
I am not talking about the show in general, I have not watched previous episodes, yesterday was just so damn funny.
The only person who has admitted to actually watching yesterdays show was Pooky AKa hellothere and he agreed.
I just thought it was good, the only other show that has made me laugh as much is 2.5 men, though that is just good week in week out!!!!
