The Courier Guy / Pudo - A Broken System and Frustrating Experience

The Pudo website is supposed to be designed for the general public, they have now integrated it with the full on TCG website for business users which was pretty sht to start with and very confusing if you don't know anything about how couriers work.
I always wonder with these kind of situations, is there no one doing oversight, the coders just do their thing and the boss couldn't care less unless the whole website implodes.

Is the Pudo app/website up and running yet?
I want to send a parcel later today.
The shopify API is working but none of the Kiosks can be selected as a locker for drop off or collection. Apparently the Kiosks hasn't been loaded as lockers yet.

Still completely buggered as its not capturing the full delivery or pickup address. I had a collection at my home this morning and the driver called as he only had the street name and not number horse number.

My two booking to door this morning only had the suburb. I had to manually write the street address on the waybill. I hope it gets to the right address.

I decided to give them a miss and rather use Aramex, I could see the website is stuffed and hence the deliveries will have all kinds of issues for the next while.

For instance I tried to book a Pudo on the website and my local locker is always chock a block full on Monday mornings with zero open lockers, this morning every size of locker was available... there's going to be so many lost parcels and people opening lockers and finding other peoples parcels.

@Jan

I think there's a decent story on how not to do a system migration.

Initially they said they will be doing system maintenance on 30 August for a few hours. Turns out it was a complete migration of the Pudo system to the same one that The Courier Guy runs on.

I'm already in conversation with Pargo in setting up their service on my website.

So they went from a site that worked but looked like it was designed by a 5 y/o to a site that doesn't work anymore.

Brilliant move

Spurred on by this thread, I've just visited the PuDo website.

Dated 2020?

It still shows the link to the sacoronavirus website at the top. LOL!

I'm a PuDO newbie and have already been frustrated by multiple app issues relating to linked pages that fail to load. A real pity as it is actually quite a neat service. I'm happy to continue using PuDo, for now, however they definitely need to sort their #$%^ out, ASAP.

TCG has gone to ****, jump out whilst you still can, I would.

Don't know. Pudo Locker to Pudo Locker works pretty well, I have no complaints on a personal level (LOCKER TO LOCKER) (or at least used to before the current update reported in this thread, have not tested yet). I am avoiding any Kiosk or Branch office or Pudo to Kiosk. That has always been a mess.

My bluebord beans are delivered with TGC, but it is usually pretty late, even though I am 5KM's from the roastery. There is no headsup that they are on the way (like most couriers) and the drivers are agitated if you not there waiting for them even though you have no idea when they come. It could be 7am, it could be 7pm.

So I had a package sent to me via Pudo Locker to Locker. I believe the drivers are smoking something, as my package has been delivered 3 times today but still have not received the pin or confirmation that its been delivered

Still major issues for those using the app and website. I think they prioritised fixing the integration API users first as there are some big online users that make use of that feature.

My shopify integration has been working and customers are getting their orders even though the full address does not print on the waybill. I still just copy and paste it on the waybill before I print it.

I think when it's fully functional it will be better. But they have lost a lot of customers to Pargo, Aramex, Bob Go and Internet express as they've had to make other arrangements. Customers don't want to hear that the courier app is not working. Screenshot_20240905_144733_Chrome.jpgScreenshot_20240905_144747_Chrome.jpg

I spoke to to person who sent the package and he got the pin from TCG, but I was advised that the pin might not work. Luckily for me the pin worked and I got my package.

While I was at the locker, I spotted a TCG employee delivering more packages and he told me that the new system is a FU even for them.

First undelivered package because their system only captures the suburb and not the street address even though I manually put them on every single waybill I print.

Hopefully this client will get their order as its over R2 700.

Users are also losing money as top ups are not reflecting or they are being billed multiple times for the same booking.

A four hour maintenance turned into a 1 week nightmare for end users.

It's official. Pudo Locker to Locker is broken as well. Can't fetch parcel and pin is not working.

That's it. No more TCG or PUDO.
Fortunately 95% of my customers choose door delivery.

All my orders seem to be going through and none of my customers have yet complained. Only have one order that was dropped in a locker today. Screenshot_20240906_142851_Chrome.jpgScreenshot_20240906_142626_Chrome.jpg

Thanks to a recent order I made which was delivered by TCG I came to realise why I don't always receive their PIN. It is a bit odd though.

So I have TrueCaller installed to look up numbers casually, but I don't have it enabled as my phone/SMS app. What happened is that TrueCaller intercepts the SMS even though it is not my SMS app. The last one I received was under TrueCaller's "Messages" received under "Standard Bank Ucounts". The odd bit is that all other SMS-sent messages go to the correct app, but not these. I never bothered to check until I cleared how I received my notices.

Stills seems to be poked. :(
pins not generating on my incoming locker deliveries.
Parcel status shows "In Locker" but nothing via email or sms

Go check the nearest Kiosk maybe. Thats where they sent my wife's package. Obviously the Kiosk's are one of the most frustrating experiences as the are damn unorganised and slower than a Municipal Servant munching KFC.
