The Craft Beer Thread

Had a cbc imperial ipa this evening. Man I enjoy their beers. This was a little sweet, nice warm alcohol, decent hop flavour and aroma. Overall a good beer. Nice to finish the weekend with something great.
I haven't seen this one before, thanks. I'll look out for it.

I'm not a huge CBC fan though. I find almost everything of theirs tastes a little like weiss.

Saw that a few days ago, definitely not brewed to the reinheitsgebot

Had these yesterday: Little Brewery on the River, Port Alfred.

They were horrible. The porter and the ale had a medicinal aftertaste and the pilsner was just strange.

I love craft beers but before I blindly follow your suggestions may I ask a quick question? What do you guys think of Delirium Tremens

For what is supposedly one of the best beers in the world I think it tastes shockingly schitt.

I enjoyed DT but I had it fresh in Belgium a few years ago

After yesterday's disaster, I decided to go conservative with something I am fond of:

First one already bitten the dust while I was editing the pics...

Taste excellent, but head almost non-existent, which does ruin the experience.

No it's not the residue from the dishwashing liquid - I know about that one

Well that all depends, hence my question, machine wash or hand wash? Dishwashing liquid from hand washing shouldn't cause a major problem

What's the problem with machine washing?

Machine washing detergents usually contain a surfactant or anti-foam, this remains on the glasses after washing and impacts the formation of foam and head in beer

No, Sunlight Dishwashing Liquid is the worst of the lot, you really have to rinse your glasses well to get rid of it. There is a machine washing detergent that was popular with the home brewers because it didn't leave a residue - can't remember the name now. Will come back on that.

BTW, I put a WH lager in the same glass and it kept it's head, so the Gilroy's I bought had a problem. :(

The WH tasted pretty yuk after the two Gilroys' though!

Okay, well we'll have to disagree on the soap issue, but SAB always used to recommend not using machine washers and to hand wash beer glasses with sunlight and then rinse well and drain dry and never use a cloth to dry
