Darn news24 paywall
Yeah, every day there is going to be some click-baity article citing their "impeccable" sources. If Iqbal writes it, it will mean imaginary friends to me. I would wait for investigation to complete before comment tbh.

I get the stigma and fear by victims in such cases (if this is real) but I don't understand why a police complaint was not made in this case.

CRIMINAL CHARGES A POSSIBILITY

The Western Cape Government approached the State Attorney and informed them that an independent legal counsel would be appointed to conduct an external investigation into the allegations levelled at Fritz.

“We are currently awaiting confirmation from the State Attorney on the instruction, which we expect to receive imminently. I will provide the details of the appointee once confirmed.”

The Premier said he would make more information public once the external investigator has been appointed and they have told him how much he can disclose as the complaints have all approached him in confidence.

“The complainants who have approached me have been informed that they have the option to lay criminal charges too, and that any necessary support will be provided to them should they elect to do so,” said Winde.

The leader of the Western Cape Government said he is not in a position to lay criminal charges at the moment. However, he cannot rule out the possibility of charges being brought against Fritz in future if the investigation recommends it is necessary.

So, as I said, this all will happen after the investigation has concluded. Winde doesn't look hesitant about the charges tho

Expecting Winde to lay charges is just nonsense, the alleged victims must stand up for their accusations.

Are you going to join DASO?
I've looked around UNISA's sites and stuff for extracurricular stuff but couldn't find any, no mention of DASO or the like either. But I'm not sure if I'm interested anyway.
Shouldn't you be in first or second year University this year as you are 19?
First year and I'm turning 20 this year btw.
You would make a good DASO leader.
You're being sarcastic, aren't you? Wow, what a gotcha moment...

Yup, extremely salty at the DA. Much like this thread most of the time tbh
Is it not the oppositions job to be extremely salty about the governing party? I think he is very useful especially since he has inside knowledge on the DA, too many things would have been swept under the carpet if it wasn't for him.

Herron is like reading IOL

Interesting, I read Paper Tiger, written by Alide Dasnois and Chris Whitfield, two ex IOL staff from its better days who were kicked out due to not complying with Iqbal.

They mentioned in the book that the DA's gripes with IOL extended from their days. DA was on their case to attack them even when IOL was a trusted source of news.

I don't see what reasons Dasnois and Whitfield will have to lie about that.

Anyway, an interesting book.

This article by Whitfield covers it a bit.. Tony Leon is reported to have been telling people not to buy the Cape Times and the Cape Times was a good paper at that time.
