The DA's plan for the SABC - sell it

Another useless service that could have easily been scaled down into a news station on YouTube and sold off. Governments are constantly crap at business.

What about the outstanding TV licenses. Will that debt be sold to the private entity as a means of possible revenue?

Unlikely. A TV license is a tax, it's not like a normal debt. I can't see anyone wanting to go through the expense of litigating through the civil courts. There's a reason why the SABC hasn't pursued anyone.

Makes sense.

I'd do the same. Auction the 3 free to air channels to private companies then give all the radio stations the licensed to also broadcast video on digital.

DA not wasting time sabotaging the Experiment who got the nice ministry, they are angry because John has been relegated to Agriculture after despite his lofty ambitions.
It's a retarded idea.
The idea of a developmental state in this country has great merit. It could work if the ANC weren't mismanaging the SOEs so badly to the point of sabotaging their own idea of using SOEs to advance that state. The apartheid government did it well for their own our people.

And we should move towards a proper mixed economy instead of this pseudo-socialist meme we live in now.

Nice clickbait title. But anyway. Sure, public meetings should be held, but I disagree with privatizing the SABC.

I'll be headhunted for this, but the SABC provides a crucial public service, I don't think it should be done away with. Rather fixed.
